Breastpumps - Orlando,FL

I'm trying to decide which breastpump I want to purchase for my baby due in Feb. So far I like the Avent, or the Tommie Tippie. I had a medula with my son and though it worked well it was alot to carry around. So has anyone tried either of the brands I listed? And are they good for everyday use because I will be using it to bottle feed my girl only, I will not be breastfeeding her. And please NO comments about how I should breastfeed and not pump! This is how I'm choosing to feed my child thanks. I had the medula with the backpack, and I can contest to being dry after 8 weeks seeing as I pumped every bottle my son had for a year!

What can I do next?

Medela is the best. I had friends w the avent who ending up buying a Medela. Pumping exclusively is hard & often leads to a decrease on supply. Pumps (no matter how good) are not as good as babies are in getting the milk out. I've used thR Pump in style advanced, symphony, & freestyle. The freestyle is the most convienent but the symphony (hospital grade) is the most powerful. Unless you are lucky & have the ability to pump a ton you are going to need a very good double electric pump. Good luck!

Have you considered renting a hospital machine?

Medela Freestyle worked great for me. It is portable, runs on a battery that can be charged. Good suction. Pricier than the regular medela pump, but totally worth it from my experience - Pumped for my preemie son till he was one. Good luck!

I have heard from several new moms that pumping alone they were dry withinthe first 8 weeks o good luck with that (no judgement). I did both nurse and pump till a few months ago when DS decided he was done latching on and have used the "mipump" from the first years, double pump, not to big abd bulky to travel with, and fairly afordable, had an Evenflow single pump with my 1st kid, best of luck to you, hope you find one you like.

I've heard good things about Avent, but no experience with Tommie Tippie. I'd ask your local LC center. I was just starting to hear about their bottles when I had DD. Whatever you get, you want another workhorse like your medela and might want to check out their Metro Bag option or see if a lactation center will sell you the motor only since you would have the other stuff.

I did the same as you, I pumped and gave my milk through bottles, it was what worked for me and my sanity. I used the Avent, it was OK, it was recommended to me by my sister who used it. I felt there had to have been better ones on the market but just never wanted to waste anymore money test driving pumps. I kept with it using the Avent but I didn't love the thing.

I'm pumping right now with my Avent Isis manual pump (he's napping and congested, so not nursing as much as usual and I'm full!!). This is my third baby and my third time pumping full-time with the manual pump. I love it and it is much easier for me than an electric. I haven't heard of the other pump you mentioned, but I did have to replace the Avent pump after the second child (second year of pumping at least five days a week, so it got a lot of use!).

Did you get the Medela in the carrying case or backpack? That's the one I used and I really liked it. I didn't think it was too cumbersome. I used it to exclusively pump as well and I thought it held up well. I don't think you'll want a manual pump, that might give you carpal tunnel! ;) I haven't used the other ones though, so I can't say! Congrats!
