Breast Pump Suggestions - Eagle Mountain,UT
I am looking into buying a breast pump but I am not sure which one to buy. I was looking at the reviews at babies r us but there are so many different reviews. I know that I want an electric pump and was also looking into the a double pump. My sister in law told me not to get a cheap one because it can cause an infection. Can I please get some recommendations from you moms out there?

I am a first time mom, and my daughter is now one. I used the medela pump, was told by the hospital it is the best one. They are not cheap, and mine is still going strong. They work really well, however I didn't try any others. I used the single pump, but wished I had the double as it would have gone twice as fast.

I went to a lactation specialist and they recommended the Avent isis IQ duo. It is wonderful. I LOVE IT. A couple of reasons that this was recommended is that there is no way for milk to get in the tubing (an issue with the medela) and the motor on the pump is superior. I also love that I can change the pattern of pumping. There are not just settings. It follows the pattern you do. i did a lot of research and was left deciding between the medela pump in style or the avent isis IQ duo and ended up going with the avent. I looked around on line and found a really good deal (for less than the medela even). that is what i would recommend.

I loved having a nice breast pump and Medela makes the best. I would recommend a double so you can save time. Also, it's nice to have one that's portable so if you're out for the day you can take care of business! My philosophy with breast pumps is to buy a nice one since you'll be using it for a while. It's also nice to preserve our breasts the best we can! The good news is that if you want a nice breast pump at an affordable price I have mine for sale! I used it after both my boys were born and I was so happy to have it around. If you're interested email me at ____@____.com.
P.S. Breast infections can come with or without the use of a breast pump - that's just part of breast feeding!

Hey D.
You should research Hygeia breast pumps. This is the website to the company, http://www.hygeiababy.com/.
This pump is the only pump that can be shared with different users and if you don't like it, you have 21 days to return it. Some of the models even let you record your babies sounds.
We rent and sell them at my store: The Giggling Green Bean in Denver. But research it before you invest.

I have the Medela Pump'n'Style and its AWESOME! I had an evenflo pump and it was terrible, the medela is expensive but WELL worth the money. ALSO, our health insurance covered all but $20 of it! Our daughter was born with a couple problems and so my doc was able to prescribe it as medically necessary for our daughter, so don't rule out that option! Also, I know they are sold on places like Craigslist, and while I'd never want to purchase one that way, the parts are EASILY sterilized and many people don't have a problem with it! And, you can always buy all new parts! Good Luck!

I used a Medela Pump In Style. It was a great pump and lasted through both of my girls. It was expensive, but we were able to sell it used once I was finished breatfeeding. It was well worth the money. My best advice is to check with the lactation department at your hospital. I got a better price through the hospital than I did online! Best of luck!

I just got the single Evenflo Comfort Select and it was under $40 on sale. I stay home so I only used it to pump when I was uncomfortable or neeed a bottle. I also paid a little extra for the warranty in case it broke. If you are not going back to work you can get away with a cheap one, if you are planning to go back to work and pump regularly get the Medela . You could also check the store Bosom Buddies near Park Meadows mall or online. Congrats and good luck.
