Breast Pain
For the past week or so I have noticed that my breasts are tender. I thought it was just PMS stuff, I'm due to start my period next week. Well last night I noticed that my left breast if really tender. This morining I was leaking what looked like breast milk and it is still very tender. I did breast feed my son, but he stoped nursing and I stopped pumping more than 9 months ago and I have not produced any milk for a while now. Have any of you experienced this and maybe know what it is?
So What Happened?™
Ok so I went back and looked at the calendar and I should start my period today. So I freaked out an bought a pregnancy test and it was negative. I called the doctor's office and my doctor is out of the office until next week. The nurse said to just watch it and come in next week if it has not gone away. I wish my doc was there today so I could go get this checked out.

I have read that if you have any discharge from the breast it's best if a physician will examine you. Good luck.

Well...if you are still able to have children, you could very well be pregnant. A friend of mine had the same thing when she was expecting her 2nd child and her 1st was over 2! Don't know if this would be good news or bad, but...either way it is something to consider. Keep us all posted!!

I think you should see a physician to rule out anything serious. I'm sure it is OK, but if your OB/GYN is out of town, I would go see someone else. Don't let them put you off. Good luck!

I would imagine it is a clogged milk duct...BUT you need to get a mammogram. You have stopped breast feeding for long enough (needs to be 3 months after breast feeding). DO NOT let a doctor tell you that you are too young. I am 2 1/2 years out of my breast cancer diagnosis. I was diagnosed at 33. I didn't experience any pain or discharge, but I have spoke to women at MD Anderson who did. PLEASE do this for yourself and your family. Better to be safe than sorry!!!!

Could you be pregnant again?

I had a breast infection after my daughter was born. It is very painful and can make you pretty sick. I would call a dr. soon just to make sure. It's treatable by antibiotics, so no big deal there, but if that is what it is, it will probably continue to get worse.
It basically is just a milk duct that gets infected for whatever reason. No cause for worries, but can hurt. Mine came on REALLY fast, got swollen, really red and feverish and super painful like in a matter of a couple of hours. May be something different here, but since that's the only one I ever had, I am not sure if they can come on in different ways. My daughter was only a day or two old at the time.
Good luck!
