Breast Lump - Long Beach,CA
I'm going in tomorrow to have an ultrasound of my left breast. When I had my annual pap last week, they of course did a breast exam. The doctor felt a small lump in my left breast and said that it felt like a mobile cyst.
Just curious, has anyone else had this? What was the outcome? I may have to also have a mammogram. I'm a bit nervous about it all, as one would expect. I appreciate the support.
So What Happened?™
Went in this morning to my appt and everything is great! No cyst, just fibrous tissue! Yipppppppppeeeeeee! I couldnt' be happier! Thanks for your support.

I have had a cyst at the bottom of one of my breasts since my daughter was born 6 years ago. When it was first found they did an ultrasound and found that it was nothing to be worried about. Since it would be more of a pain to have it removed than just to leave it there, I've just left it.
Good luck!

Don't panic. Cysts are easily removed. Happened to me after I stopped breast feeding. When you get your ultrasound it will confirm the diagnosis. My philosophy is never panic until I have to! Let us know how you are doing please. LL

Let the doctors be the doctors. Good for you for going to get it checked and following up. Take one day at a time and let the experts use their knowledge to guide you, and if you don't like what they say, get more opinions.

Moveable is great! After breast feeding, I had one that disappeared after six months.

I had one .. they were able to aspirate it in the doctors office in minutes-- it was benign and was completely gone after aspiration (painless and that is how they did the biopsy -- very simple) . Had another one many years later that wasn't a cyst -- did an MRI guided needle biopsy -- which allowed them to biopsy without incision/surgery. Turned out to be benign. Basically painless procedure (just local anesthesia) didn't scar and minimally invasive. Both options gave me great peace of mind. All the best to you.

I only had the ultrasound done was referred to a surgeon, had the cyst removed. Recovery was pretty quick and although they couldn't say until that it wasn't cancer until the biopsy results were back the doctor was quite confident that it wasn't. Good luck and please update.

The same thing happened to me a few years ago. I was referred to a specialist who did basically an ultrasound of the lump and also took a biopsy. It turned out to be normal.

I had a lump that turned out to be a "lypoma," which just means a hardened lump of fat. I had it removed, and have a very small, not noticeable, scar. It doesn't raise my risk of breast cancer in any way.
Have you had a mammogram before? They're not fabulously comfortable, but they're no big deal.
Try not to stress! Many lumps turn out to be completely non dangerous. :)
