i was speaking to my cousin the other day who hasnt seen me since i got pregnant (so my pregnancy was the big topic) i told her that i was 25 weeks along.. one of the first things she asked me was if i had braxton hicks contractions yet.. and i said no not that i know of (ive heard of them before its not like i was like uhm waht the heck is that, but i wouldnt consider myself knowledgable on the subjet) and my cousin said o0 then u havent had them because u would know.. she said she had them all the time with her daugher and it felt like someone was putting a giant rubberband around her stomach... is that what they really feel like?
-and also she said something like o well ull have them dont worry lol .. are they something everyone always gets during pregnancy?

What can I do next?

I never had them with my first two, but with this one, I've been having then for like 3 weeks now. I'm 35 weeks. To me it feels like slight, early on contractions, but not constant and not extreme.

They feel like miniature labor. I had them the last few weeks of pregnancy. You feel your stomach tighten up, its just practice.
Some gals dont have them I guess, because I've heard them say so.
I had them tho.

I'm at 28 weeks right now, and just started getting them in the past week. For me, it sometimes feels like cramping during my period, and other times like my belly just gets really tight for a little bit, then everything goes back to normal. I didn't have them very much during my first pregnancy, only a couple of times towards the end.

Most women do get them. They feel like you entire uterus tightens up for a moment then goes back to normal. They aren't painful - just uncomfortable. With my twins (first pregnancy) I started having them around 28 weeks. With my daughter, I could feel them at 20 weeks.

The rubber band is a pretty good description. I never had them with my 1st pregnancy. Got them pretty early on with my second & even earlier with my 3rd.

Your stomach will tighten up and get really hard for a minute or so, and then relax. I had them starting at 30 weeks with my first pregnancy. I even went in to see my OB because I was nervous and thought it was early labor. She argued with me on the phone about coming in, but obliged me since I was a first time mommy. It was indeed Braxton Hicks. I had them with my second and third pregnancies. It was annoyed by them, but not worried because I knew what they were. Sometimes drinkings some water and laying on your side will help alleviate them.

I dont know that everyone gets them but I do know that they can be so unnoticable that the only way to tell that you are having them is by feeling your stomach with your hands and noticing that it is hard enough to bounce a quarter off of it and they can be very painful and uncomfortable. It really just depends. Ive also heard that Braxton hicks are much more common with 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc pregnancies and that they are more likely to start sooner than they did with previous babies. I had them very infrequently with my first starting at about 34 weeks and they were nothing - ie not painful or anything and then with my second baby they started at about 22 weeks and were very often and they were uncomfortable most of the time but not painful. I remember with my first baby I fell at 35 weeks and when I went to the hospital for the NST they had me hooked up to the monitor that was dececting I was having very strong BH contractions that I couldnt feel in the slightest. So its def. possible that you are having them and that you dont notice
Good Luck and Congrats

I've had 3 babies and I've never had Braxton hicks. I think it really just depends on the person. Congrats on your pregnancy! :)

I don't think I got them as early as 25 weeks. I had a 25 min. drive to work when I was prego with my 1st and he didn't like me to sit for that long so I would have this contraction like feeling. My doctor said it was actually my son pushing with his legs and arms and back to try to make more room for himself. I got the point, I made my hubby drive me to work for the last week or so, that way I could recline my seat if I needed to.
