Braxton Hicks at 13 Weeks?

Hi F., NO this is not ok. Braxton Hicks are more characteristice of the last trimester. I would get in as soon as you can!

I had contracts from very early on with my first. By 20 weeks I got them EVERY time I peed and whenever I was dehydrated.
Talk to you doctor, but also, don't let people scare you too much.

I don't think they are OK that early in a pragancy, but I've never had twins. If insurance is a concern... call your local health dept. Most Health Dept have an OBGYN that works with them for pragancy clinics and they will be able to help you or go to a Planned Parent Hood (walk ins are usually accepted in your case). Both of the options base your visit on your income and if you don't have much of one the visit will be free! I know it might not be your first choose of care, but I meet my current OBGYN through Barberton's Health Dept... he is a great doc and has delieved 4 kids for me know and I still "love" him and trust him with everything dealing with my female health & babies. The first one was through the health dept & in 1994 the cost of prenatal and delivery (doc cost only) was $500. Which is a super deal cause I saw what it was going to cost from my sister's bill the month before.

Once you get all this worked out... you maybe able to get state help for the insurance issue. But they do require proof of pragnacy in most cases, so if you are going this route for insurance it's another reason to get in to see a doc, but the most important reason is the health of you and the little ones!

CALL YOUR OB/GYN!!!!! If insurance is a concern, a call doesn't cost anything. They are accustomed to getting calls like these all the time, and they really are used to it, even if it is after office hours. They may ask you to come into the office - then worry about the cost. But, in all honesty, a $100 office visit is nothing compared to peace of mind.
Your doctor wants you to have the healthiest babies possible! They need a healthy Mom, too.
Please call your doctor ASAP!

Hey not trying to freak you out.. but i would call ur ob asap.. i had, what i thought were braxton hicks, at about 26 weeks or pregnancy.. my doctor told me that was way to soon. I had a regular doctor's exam @ 24 wks everything was fine.. Well here our baby had passed away in womb & at 26 wks my body, if you will, was trying to rid the baby. So therefore i had to deliver, but i thought mine were just braxton hicks too.. so you should go see your doctor. I hope all is well & not trying to freak you out..

I would personally call your ob. I have not had them that early in all three of my pregancies. I would call just to make sure..I think with twins it is different

F., I would advise you to see an OB as soon as possible. I don't know if Braxton Hicks are normal at this early point or not, but you need to be sure these are not real contractions or something else to be worried about. You are already past your first trimester--it is critical you get good medical care for you and your baby.

I had what felt like braxton-hicks really early on in both of my pregnancies. Without cramping or spotting, you are probably fine, but you should probably call your doctor just in case.

I agree that a call is definitely worth it. I've never had twins, but I have had BH very early in my pregnancy- 15/16 weeks (then again, it was my 4th pregnancy). They always tell you it's better to be safe than sorry. I would say that's even more so with twins. Good luck!
