My husband and I were wanting to see a play in Chicago for our anniversary this July. I was thinking something along the lines of Wicked or Jersey boys, but I can't seem to find anything. Any recommendations?

Peter Pan, Beauty & the Beast, West Side Story, Blues Brothers, will be here or are already here for parts of the summer including July dates :) My reccomendation is B&tB or WWS but if he is new to musicals Blues Brothers will be a wonderful pick for him.
I think Wicked is gone again-bummer because it was AWESOME. Check out www.broadwayinchicago.com. I think that is the correct site. I do know it is Broadway In Chicago. I signed up for emails and sometimes I get notices about winning tickets or special discounts and advance notice when something is coming back.
You could also check out Blue Man group at the Briar Street Theatre.
Wicked is gone for now. They did a brief visit last winter, so maybe they'll come again soon. We saw Peter Pan this week, but note that if you are seeking an experience in one of the ornate downtown theaters that it is in a large white outdoor enclosed tent because it's the 360 degree experience. Very nice and awesome show, but just a heads up. It's a circular style theater so very intimate and any seat looked to be great since you weren't far away from the stage. I believe West Side Story will be opeing in July. It would be a perfect one for an anniversay. It is the story of Romeo and Juliet in current times.
I don't think either of those is playing in Chicago this summer. Below is a list of the Broadway shows you can catch here...West Side Story, Tribute to the Blues Brothers, Peter Pan & Beauty & the Beast are all playing this summer, and a few more too.
Wicked and Jersey Boys are gone. Cirque du Soleil is in for the month though -- under a big tent by the United Center. Check into that. It will be a great show!
