S.,
We have gone to Branson for many years. Our favorite spot is Silver Dollar City. We have been having a good time there since our children were young and now we take our grandchildren. There are also many shows you can check out online that would interest both children. Please enjoy!! Also there are many beautiful sights especially in the fall. The rolling hills covered with the colored leaves on the trees.

I think I'm the odd ball. I really wasn't impressed with Branson. I have several friends that love it and they go every year. I'm not sure why I didn't like it, there were only a few things that stood out to me. The Titanic Exhibit was good. I went to a few shows and they were okay.
But I would still encourage to go and experience it yourself. I would recommend you staying at a place that has a small kitchen if you stay for longer than a couple of days, restaurants are a hit and miss and the cost of eating out can add up very quickly.

Love Silver Dollar City, right now they have everything all lit up w/ Christmas. Everyone is always in costume. The music and food is all very old style but give such a warm family bonding experience I think!!! Summer is great too, lots of fun, lots of rides and games!
Your 7 year old would really enjoy Ripleys Believe it or Not! The Landing is a great place to shop!
Good luck and have fun!
Oh and in Branson, you can also have one of the Old Time photos taken (even at SDC if you like but might be a bit more pricey there).

If you're going this time of year, definitly go to Silver Dollar City. It is so pretty this time of year. They go overboard with christmas lights everywhere and there is a lighted parade in the evening, your kids would really enjoy. We always love to stay at Big Cedaar Lodge. It's a bit pricey, but a nice cozy lodge experience. It's about 5 miles south of the strip and right on the lake, so you're in another world there.

hi S.! we actually just got back from branson yesterday. we go down every year, but usually not during christmas cuz it just seems much more crowded. we always stay at the hilton convention center which is right on the landing. there are cheaper hotels if you want to stay more on the strip, but my son loves trains and we always ride the branson scenic railway. it's about a hour and a half train ride and it's a great experience. during christmas it's the "polar express" and it's more expensive. the landing is a great place to walk around and shop. they have a great water show (similar to the bellagio in vegas, but smaller) and my son loves to see that. i think branson is a very relaxing vacation spot. i also don't spend a lot of money going to the shows, so i can't help you on that. we have seen yakov the comedian and that was hilarious, but at the time, my son was a baby...not sure how he would do now. we also saw a magic show there a couple years ago and it was pretty good. i haven't really been disappointed with anything i've done down there...i truly believe it's a great place to relax and take the family. it's absolutely beautiful at christmas! have fun!!
