Okay so I have twin girls who are 14. tuesday, Bree is getting her braces off but abby has to wait another year. Any suggestions on how to handle this? because its safe to say abby is definetly not happy about having to wait. My son who is 12 got his braces off already, and so did her big sister, so shes definetly feeling disapointed. Should I just not give it life, not make it a big deal, because I do feel sorry for her, but in the end her teeth will be straight, and thats what we want. So any adivice of how to deal with this? Thanks! :)

theres nothing you can do about it.. i wouldnt make a big deal out of it unless she does.. if she hasnt said much about it and you do.. it might make her feel worse about the whole situation.. if she does start saying things about it i would just tell her that obviously her teeth were worse than her sisters and she has to have them on longer.. if she got them taken off now along with her sister her teeth wouldnt be straight and thats the whole point of getting braces in the first place.. its going to suck for her for a while but she'll get over it .. my teeth were horrible i had a ton of friends who got their braces after i did and got them off first... once she gets them off and shes how great she looks without them she'll forget that she ever had to have them on so long

It is what it is. You cannot change it.
They are twins, but they are individuals with their own unique attributes - including crooked teeth.
Don't make a to do.
It's not a huge deal unless you let it be one.

Well my daughter is 15 about to be 16. We found out she needs them on another year ! We thought they would be off this summer. She was upset but I reminded her at least they won't be on for senior year. Pictures, prom etc. Your daughter may be upset but I think once it sinks in she will be fine .

I wouldn't make a big deal over it. Her braces are not about a race as to which sibling gets them off first, they're about her getting beautiful teeth. She is getting what she needs. Her sister is getting hers off when her treatment is over, just like she will, just like non-twin siblings do. I wouldn't handle it at all. Take Bree out for her celebratory ice cream and just ask her not to throw her gum chewing and popcorn eating abilties in her sister's face.
