BPA Free Sippy Cups

We're trying to switch out my son's Playtex sippy cups with BPA free cups. I've looked into a few but read some bad reviews about leakage in the Foogo and Born Free cups. We tried the Avent Magic cups and they leaked way too much for us. Anyone found good non-plastic or BPA free sippy cups they like?

What can I do next?

If you are trying to avoid plastic, you probably also want to avoid aluminum. I'll leave you to do your own research there. I have a Foogo and it has not leaked on us. Yet, that is. I have not had it a month yet. I also have a Klean Kanteen which has not leaked on us:

It's on sale right now, too.

My best advice is it might be a good time to switch to a cup. I have an 11 month old and she has been drinking from a cup since she was 6 months. This was advice givin to me by her doctor. She told us of new findings that sippy cups are not the best for childern. That they are to similar to a bottle and can rot the teeth (from being carried around like a bottle)and cause speech development problems. Its a lot eaiser then it sounds. I was scared to give a six month old a cup. Small amounts with help and before I new it she was using it like she was an old pro!

hi, J.!

how are you doing? my 23 month old little guy just loves the camelbak bottles...they do not leach any plastic chemicals into the water, are completely leak-proof (they have a guarantee), are easy to clean in this dishwater and are perfect size for him to carry around. we got ours at REI and i think they were about $10.00 a piece...but we only needed three and we will be able use them when he gets older as well. rei also carries some aluminum sippy cups as well that are very good.

hope this helps!

Hi J.,
I have a four year old and we use Klean Kanteen's with the sports top and we love them! They clean easily and for the most part they dont leak. Sometimes if I put too much in them a little bit with drip out of this rubber thingy in the lid. But that only happens when I dont pay attention. You can sometimes find them on sale at I think www.reusablebags.com

Good luck!

They have a sippy cup called Klean Kanteen that is similar to a swiss sig bottle. It looks really cool. My kids are older so I haven't tried it. Go to the website and take a look. Let me know what you think. =)

We have the Born Free Training Cup (might be a little different than the sippy cup) for my 7 month old and he tosses that thing like a football and it hasn't leaked yet :)

Good luck and great job providing the safest options for your children!!
