Hi,
I am looking for a good sippy cup that is BPA free that does not have a plastic, but rubber top. I would like one that does not leak. (Used the Gerber before, but found out they are not BPA free.) Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.
TS

Think Baby is a great brand with a silicone nipple, my daughter loves hers and it's BPA free.

They come with a removable handle, too, for when they are big enough not to need it anymore. We've never had an issue with leaks and we have three of them that are abused daily.

There are several other brands out there, especially nowadays that it's become an issue of whether moms will buy a product or not depending on these cups having BPA in them or not.

Good luck!!

I was in Dick's Sporting Goods in Rivertown Crossings Mall (Grandville) just this week and by the front registers, they had Small Waterbottles that were BPA Free.

I use Dr. Brown sippy cups. I really like them and I am pretty sure they are BPA free.

We use NUBBY sippy cups with the rubber top. They can leak sometimes...but never very much and it's typically if it falls on the floor and the tip is smushed a bit. The pressure on the tip allows the liquid to seep through a bit.

Overall I really like them. No valve... so no worries about the sucking being too difficult. Big easy handles for little hands. Easy to clean. Gotta love that!

Nubby also has a 'straw' sippy cup. We have transitioned that one. It has a flip top that goes over the straw so no spills when not in use. Love it!

Oh and.... FYI ... Dr. Browns plastic bottles are NOT BPA free....so I wouldn't assume the sippy cups are. That is why they came out with the glass bottle option you see in the stores now. They weren't going to change their process on the plastic bottles to remove the BPA.

Not all Nuby cups a BPA free. Some of the sport sipsters are, but the packaging needs to state it.
I saw some Nalgene sipsters at a sports store recently and plan on going back to see if there are any left. The packaging on those said BPA free.
We currently have the Foogo (sp?) but those are expensive at $15 each.

We use the sippy and straw cups made by thermos called foogo cups. THey are BPA free and you can find them at Target or online. At Target they are back in the camping area. We absolutely love them. No leaks, and our girls love them. We have now had to buy them both the straw cup so they have the same cup. I hope this helps!

Look at the Born Free brand. I use there bottles because they are BPA free. I'm not sure if they have sippy cups with rubber tips though.

The Nuby cups are BPA free, next to the # on the bottom is a pp which means it is made of poly proplene, I called the company to make sure. They have they silicone top and you can buy replacement tops when they wear out instead of buying a whole new cup.

Check with Nuby, but they changed all their products to BPA free and on their website next to the item states what it is made of.

I know that Munchkin brand has cups that are BPA free, but I'm not sure if they have any with a rubber top. I just got some last week at Target that had the hard plastic top and don't leak. Good luck!

I have about 6 of the Born Free sippy cups. They work okay - they were the only cups my twin boys would transition to for sippy cups at first because the tip is soft and rubbery -- similar to a bottle nipple. They work fine, and they don't necessarily "leak", but since my 2 are now almost 2 yrs old, they've figured out that if they hold it upside down and squeeze the spout just right they can get their juice/water out of it. They only use these now when in their high chairs or at the table, especially since they now will drink from just about any sippy cup. These cups ARE expensive though. I bought mine at the Right Start store, and I've seen them on line for a little cheaper. I'd get only 1 to start with.

Sippy cups a a great invention...too bad they have the plastic to deal with. Sippy cups had not been invented when my girls were little ones...how did we survive? LOL
Using a regular breakable cup or mug teaches the little ones to be careful so they don't spill, or drop it because it will break. Natural and logical consequence...no more juice/no more cup. Sorry I don't have an answer for a product without the BPA.
