I just recieved 2 packages of unopened bottles. One Playtex and one First Years Soothies. The Playtex's copyright(?) date says 2005 and the Soothies is 2008. Are they usable without the scare of BPA? I also have an unopened package of Playtex binkies that says 2006. ... usable?? They don't say BPA free which is why i'm not sure.

Thanks Brandy! I actually have bought the Playtex VentAire that are new compared to the ones I had questions about and the new ones have an 8 on them and are advertised as BPA free. but the numbers are a good thing to know! I'll look on everything now!

I know that you're interested in bottles at the moment. I do have the BPA free sippy cups for sale. I bought them for my boys once I discovered the BPA info and they quickly outgrew them. They are almost new and the brand is Born Free. Email me if you're interested: ____@____.com care!

That was several years ago.. .maybe try going to their website and see. If it were me, I would not use it.
All manufacturers are different in "when" or if they produced BPA free bottles/pacifiers etc.

A good BPA free bottle though, is the "MAM" brand, which you can get from Amazon. That is what I used for my son. Love it. They have bottles and pacifiers etc.

All the best,
Susan

I wouldn't trust the 2005 soothie, and I'm thinking soothie may not be BPA free currently. (Not sure on that). Same with the binkies from 2006. That's just my opinion. I ONLY used Avent everything because I was certain that it is BPA free. Have you tried to google it?

Good luck!

Those probably have BPA in them. That's prior to the "concern" about BPA, and so manufacturers were still using it at that time.

From my experience and research, if it doesn't say BPA Free, don't assume it is. If you are only looking for BPA Free, make sure it's states it clearly.

If they don't say BPA free you cannot be sure that they are. The best way to get an accurate answer is to ask the companies that made them.

Both those brands have BPA in them. Try Medela. I loved them. If you look on the bottom of the bottles, and any kind of plastic, there should be a triangle with a number in it. If the number is 3,6, or 7, they are bad plastics. Any other number is good.
