BPA Bottle Concerns

I would like to purchase Dr. Brown's BPA free bottles, but do not know what to do with the Dr. Brown's bottles I already own. I hate to just throw them away and add to the landfills, but I don't feel comfortable donating them to charity either. Does anyone know what "they" recommend I do with these old bottles?

What can I do next?

You can put them on freecycle- some parents are not concerned with the BPA info that is out there.
You can usually also find friends or organizations that send care packages to overseas orphanages who will take ANYTHING because they are often raided and the tiny babies are left with NOTHING.
We send tons of stuff that way.

Hi I.,

Are the bottles plastic or glass? But them in the recycle bins that they may have at the fire stations.

Hope this helps. D.

They can be recycled.

I'm going through the same debate right now. If they aren't safe for my kids - do I want to send them off to someone else - they aren't safe for THEIRS either! I would figure out where you can take them to recycle them. I think all polycarbonate plastic (BPA) is a number 7 on the recycling chart.

I think everyone already covered it but recycle or donate them... There's also another company that makes BPA free stuff called BornFree.

You can sign up for freecycle and ask anyone on there in your city if they want them!
Freecycle.org
All you need is to create a yahoo acoount if you don't already have one!
Main goal of this group is to keep stuff out of the junk yards!

I debated about the same thing, but ended up giving my Avent bottles to the Goodwill, hoping someone can get them for REAL cheep and use their money for something else needed for the baby. I don't know of any good solution. It's too bad they were even manufactured to begin with.

I just put mine in the recycle bin as I didn't feel comfortable giving them to charity either.
