Boy Name Game - Sheeesh

Baby boy due 11/1/11
Long story short we've battled it out on the name game - I chose Holden after The Catcher in the Rye.
Husband randomly chose Corbyn. Neither of us would budge so we agreed to toss both names (sniff sniff).

So we went through the Nymbler (best site ever for disagreements!) We put in our son's name (Kamden) and the two above mentioned names.
Husband LOVES the following and I'm on the fence about it.... Need some opinions and some possible middle name options.

da-da-da-daaaaaaaaaaa ------ "Brecken" What do you think???

I DO like it because I was TRYING to go for Holden Beck (my sister's name is Becky) so Brecken isn't that far off... but in some small sense it's not really a name I've heard before so I have reservations.

Also, what middle name do we put with it? We have a one syllable last name. My name is C., so we could use Christopher. We could also use DH's grandfather's name (James), but another family member has already used it (does that mean it cannot be used again?) Our first son has my dad's name as his middle so I feel obligated to use some sort of familial name (though Breckon may be close enough to Becky?)
Arrrrrrrrghhhhhh

Opinions Mamas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

You don't think using both Holden Corbyn as both the first and middle names would be too many "N" names together??? That's why we hadn't considered it????? But that's what everyone is saying to do since we like both names. We'll consider it if it's not too much repitition!!!

I agree with previous posters that Corbyn with the y seems feminine and prefer it with an i for a boy's name.

I think if you chose Brecken, he will probably be called Breck by most friends... And that makes me think of women's hair shampoo.

I like Holden; I like Corbin... Don't like both together. I like James Brecken. Like Holden James and Corbin James.

Good luck, the name game is hard! Sometimes you have to put it on hold for a few days and then revisit it.

I think Brecken or Breckon is likely to get teasing from contemporaries - they'll probably call him "Broken."

You are not obligated to use relatives' names, but there's nothing wrong with using them, either. You can still use James; if the other young James is someone you're close to, and James is his first name, you could use James as the middle name. Or vice versa. Both boys would be named after Grandpa, and that's great. James Holden?

Corbyn Christopher also sounds good to me, if you want to retrieve Corbyn from the delete pile. Although I'd spell it Corbin, because he'll like that better when it's on his law school diploma. :^)

Um, I don't like Breckon. At all.
Sounds like "reckon."

Why not name him Holden Corbyn (then you last name)?
Or Corbyn Holden.... ?

You do not have to use a family name.
You are not obligated.

I have heard of Brecken before. I like it okay, it's different, but I like Holden better! I think it's okay to use a family name that has been used before. Almost every grandkid on my mom's side was named after my grandfather in some way, shape, or form, so really, it's fine!

I like the sound of James as the middle name. I've heard of Brecken before. But not very often. Ya know when it comes to names I think the more unique the better. No body wants to be number 3 in their class with the same name. I way go for something different. We did with my daughters and I'm glad I did.

I like Brecken..I think it's great...there is an actor named Breckin and my sister LOVES that name, tried to get me to choose it but I went with Korbin!

But I also have a Korbin and am partial to that name too!

Brecken James sounds good but Holden Beck is AWESOME!

~If I were you I would choose something you LOVE...not just something you kinda like b/c you guys couldn't decide?! What about using both names? Holden Corbyn or Corbyn Holden?

I think Brecken is a cute name. Go ahead and use James. Our oldest sons middle name is Michael, which happens to be my brothers middle name and his oldest sons middle name. It didn't make me think twice about still choosing that name! :)

Brecken James! I like it much better than Holden or Corbyn.
