Well we are thinking of purchasing the Samsung French Door Refrigerator - does anyone have this fridge or type of fridge? any bad points to a freezer on the bottom?
Thanks

Hi, that is the fridge that we almost bought, but ended up going with a different one because of the color. I totally fell inlove with the samsung refrigerator and I think you should get it. We have the GM version of the french door and bottom freezer and love it! It doesn't have as many compartments as the samsung but it still works really well. We used to have issues fitting everything in our fridge and our freezer would always be so disorganized. The new one allows us to fit more stuff without feeling cramped. Hope it works out for you!!

I never bought a bottom refrigerator because I remembered the awful time my mom & sister had with theirs. Over time, it seemed pulling the bottom out took muscle (not sure if the tracks freezed up or what the problem was). Also, you had items piled on top of each, so you were bending & digging in the freezer. I swore I'd never buy a freezer like that until my husband bought and inexpensive box (bend over) freezer for the garage. That one I didn't need to deal with everyday, so I didn't mind.

I don't have that one but we bought an LG lfc25760sw from Appliance direct in the scratch and dent section. it has a bottom drawer with and second thin drawer for ice and pizza sized room. Yes it does become quite the dump which is a downfall, but the french doors do give a LOT more room, we usually open the fridge more than the freezer so it was worth it anyway (and even the freezers on top in my house were always "dump bins" anyway, so it didn't really make a difference). another thing that you need to watch with the french doors is that the hinge looks like it can be replaced fairly easily as french door hinges break easier. I would even look to see if you can get replacements. And you need to close one door at a time you can't close them at the same time or it doesn't seal correctly (at least with ours). But in the long run we love our french door bottom freezer fridge.
Hope that helps,
T.
