Bottles - Aurora,IL
I am looking for new bottles. My son 4 years ago I bought Avent. I didn't like them then. Course they where not BPA free. So I have thrown them away.
I don't want them again. I am looking at the Dr. Browns, Tommy Tippee, playtex with the drop ins. The Tommy Tippee are so new, does anyone have any thoughts on them? I thought about the Born free glass, but am worried as the child will throw the bottle as he/she gets older and it will break.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments please let me know. I don't know which one to buy.

We used Playtex drop-ins. I tried a bunch of different bottles because my baby was 100% breastfed and didn't go to daycare until she was 7 months. She rejected most bottles, even one shaped exactly like a breast. She accepted the Playtex and she wasn't gassy from it, but she was older than an infant. We still use them (she's 3 now) and they are super convenient to travel with. No BPA and light weight.

The glass Dr.Browns are the best things ever. My son had tummy problems. We tried everything, it was unreal. These worked great and he was able to keep his food down.

No plastic is totally safe, even the PBA-free ones, when you warm in them. If you warm the milk/formula and THEN put it in, it's ok, but I'd rather just use glass if I used bottles. The glass are very sturdy, and you could always put one of those tethers on if you were worried about it.

We used gerber, playtex and finally tried Dr Brown when my daughter was about 4 months old. They certainly helped with her "tummy and tkaing in too much air" issues...I didn't find them they difficult to clean either. We used a basket in the dishwasher, or by hand. We loved them and they worked well for her! Good luck!

I used the Dr. Browns. Ok so I do have to admit that it reduced fussiness and so on. My baby had gas, but was always able to burp easy, without spitting up all the time. We tried a few bottles and these did work the best. But I absolutely hated having to clean all the parts (we don't have a dishwasher). There are so many little places that bacteria can hide that it would take me forever to clean them. If you have a dishwasher buy the Dr. Browns disherwasher basket if you end up getting them. =) Good Luck.

My son has liked the Dr. Brown bottles. We started on Medela glass but they always seemed to leak! He was fine with that nipple though.
I tried a couple of others but he seemed to like the Dr. Brown best.

I use the born free but they are plastic. Love them. No complaints here.

My friend uses Avent BPA-free and says they're so much better than when she used them with her daughter. There's a cap that prevents leaking. My 2nd son spit up a LOT and I found that the regular Playtex bottles worked great. I opted not to use the drop-ins because of the cost and waste with the extra plastic. Dr. Brown's looked too complicated, and Born Free looks like it has too many parts to clean, too. My only issue with Playtex bottles is that there are only 2 nipple sizes, and eventually "fast" flow gets slow when your baby's older.
