Bottle Nipples That Don't Leak??

Are there any bottles that don't leak? I am using the Playtex system with the disposable inserts, and have been really happy with it, but since we switched to the 6 month+ Rapid nipple I am quite annoyed with the leakage. Just tip the bottle over and milk starts leaking everywhere. Are all 6 month+ nipples like this?

What can I do next?

Hi C.
I had a horrible time with bttles in general. I tried Avent, Playtex nurser, Medela, Gerber, you name it, I tried them all. I have to say that I was frantic b/c I never really knew how much my daughter was consuming and how much was being lost in the spit rag. Last spring was the first time the stores voluntarily took plastic bottles off the shelf. I panicked and called Babies R Us. They let me take all my bottle systems back and they gave me a credit. The only bottle system at that time (other than glass) that did not have the Bph was "Born Free". I bought 6 bottles....(With the credit I got I was able to afford the $60. as they are pricy at $10 a bottle.) I have to tell you they were the absolute best bottles ever! My daughter had no problems with adjusting to them and they NEVER leaked. The only time you may see a drop or so is when the inner vent needs to be replaced.
I love the system and I recommend them to everyone I know that is pregnant.
Maybe try one bottle and see how it works out for you.
You can always return it if it doesn't work well for you.
Good luck!
Oh, P.S. The one thing I found was when I switched to the size 2 nipple, my daughter was practically drowning and couldn't keep up with the flow. I just stayed with the stage 1 nipples. They worked fine and she is 14 months old. I do have 2 size 2 nipples and I use them for when she is having the drinkable yogurts...Yo Baby etc. B/C that is a thicker liquid, it flows better with the #2's.
I bought the Born Free sippy cups, but my daughter is teething so badly right now, she would rather chew on the sippy nozzle than to drink what is in the bottle. So I will hold off on those until she is done with the teething.

I use the Playtex Drop-ins bottles for my daughter who is almost 11 months old. I've never switched to the rapid flow nipples because she hated them. They flow too fast. I've been using the tri-cut nipples and they work great. They don't drip but she can drink as fast or slow as she wants to.
When we are out and I need a nipple that is super drip free, I use the Nuby non-drip bottles. I've heard a lot of babies don't like them because it's harder to get the fluid out but my daughter doesn't have a problem with them. They're great for teething too because they have little nubs on them. They are really inexpensive so you could get one and try it without wasting a lot of money. Here's a link:

That's what the fast flow nipples do, no matter what brand you get. Some brands may have a faster flow than others, but they're all going to leak like that. As your baby gets older, he'll be able to handle the faster flow and will get annoyed with the slower flow..they'll take too long to get through the bottle.
Good luck.

I have a 6 and 1/2 month old and I have not switch nipple sizes on his bottles. I think it's better to stick to the no. 1's because they imitate the milk flow from the breast better than the bigger sizes. I also pause the bottle feeding sporadically, as to break up the flow.

Because the opening is bigger for a faster flow, I have found that they all leak. In fact, our little guy was sick last week so I slept with him in the guest room... fell asleep for about 10 minutes and inadvertently left the bottle upside down- leaked all over the floor... yuck. Just keep the caps handy!

I used the playtex ones. I never switched to the rapid nipples. I also used the slow ones up to ages 2 and 3. Hope this helps.

All nipples leak to some degree. I don't like the playtex nipples but any standard size nipple will fit a standard size nipple ring. I have been using the Dr. Brown nipples because they have 4 levels rather than 2 or 3. I like Dr. Brown's bottles, Born Free (not standard size) and Playtex VentAir. I use the Dr. Brown nipples for everything they fit.

I have tried all kinds of bottles and as soon as you tip them over they all leak except playtex air vent. I love them. My son was not happy with flow so I even made more holes in the nipple and still no leaking. I am using them again #3.

I used Dr. Browns and I used the level 1 all the way until she was done with the bottle. I never changed to faster flow. I figure, if a kid breastfeeds, the flow doesn't change as they get older, so why should the bottle nipple? Anyway, I never had leaks.
