Botox Ok If Not Pregnant Yet? Can't Find Stats.

I normally get botox every 4-6 months. I am ready for some now (I'm 36, have crows feet, brow frown lines). We are trying to get pregnant (I'm ovulating at the end of this month). Assuming that since it stays in the body for 4-6 months it might not be a good idea - but can't find any information on whether it could harm the fetus. Does anyone know?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks to Erica, who found a great article. The most important paragraph reads:

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of BOTOX® in pregnant women. Because animal reproductive studies are not always predictive of human response, BOTOX® should be administered during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. If this drug is used during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes pregnant while taking this drug, the patient should be apprised of the potential risks, including abortion or fetal malformations which have been observed in rabbits."

Obviously I have decided to give up botox until after I am done nursing (assuming/hoping I get pregnant!). We all know that babies don't care if their mamas are wrinkled, right? :0)

Thanks again Erica!

I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR 'BOTOX PREGNANCY'....

I WOULDN'T RISK IT - I WOULD BE AFRAID OF BIRTH DEFECTS OR SOMETHING MAY BE WRONG WITH THE CHILD WHEN THEY GET OLDER... I DON'T THINK THERE IS ENOUGH RESEARCH TO PROVE IT EITHER WAY SINCE IT IS A FAIRLY NEW PRODUCT.

I used Avon Deep Crease Concentrate while I was pregnant, I have used it for 3 years now. I can't go without the stuff. You might want to try it or look into it. It might not hurt since it is not an injection. Check it out!

I'd be worried about it. I just don't think they know enough about it to predict what harm it can do to the unborn baby.
