Boppy Reviews

When I had my daughter (now 4) I don't know that the Boppys were out (or maybe I just didn't see them). I now have a friend having a second child VERY soon and we were talking about the Boppy Pillow, and neither of us knew much about them (she'd never seen them before, and her daughter is the same age as mine). So, My question is this: Is the Boppy Pillow worth the almost $40 price tag since the mom IS NOT breastfeeding? This will help my friend for now, and me in the future. Thanks for your responses in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you everyone for your responses. It seems that the general thoughts are that Boppys are good for much more than just breastfeeding; thanks for taking time to respond! I'm going to look into buying one now. Thank You!

I loved my boppy and my husband still uses it when he rocks my 2 year old daughter. You can use it for tummy time and to sit up also. It was a big relief on my arms and belly after a c-section!

In the first three months of my son's life, we used the bobby pillow all the time. I did breastfeed, but we used it in several other ways. The Bobby pillow is great for people who want to hold the baby but are nervous around babies. We used the bobby pillow to prop him when sitting on the couch or floor. Also, we used the pillow for tummy time. I hope that this helps!!

Boppy's ROCK! I did breastfeed and they were helpful, but my kids are now 3 and 4 and still use them in the playroom when they watch a movie/TV. Plus they like when I tell the stories of how they've had them since they were tiny babies. My daughter uses hers for her dolls and animals.

I would say not worth it if you are not breastfeeding. We used ours about two times with each kid for purposes other than breastfeeding. It can help them sit up when they are not able to fully do that on their own, but that stage is very short-lived.

I loved my boppy! I did nurse though, and it was really helpful there, also helpful with my c-section recovery. But we got tons of use out of it aside from nursing- lounging, tummy time, sitting up ( makes a great prop to get really cute pictures!) But I think you can get it much cheaper than 40 dollars. They also have special attachments to turn it into a baby gym. You can buy a bare naked boppy and a slip cover, I wonder if that is cheaper?

I had one and really liked it for breast feeding, but for bottle feeding I don't think it would be very useful...
Pretty good for propping up a nearly sitting 5 month old though!

NO way! If she isn't breastfeeding, don't bother! If she feels she has to have one just because...check craigslist.org for one that is lightly used.

I had 2, and personally I NEVER used them. I tried, but they did not work for me and I just did not like them. They are hard and big (compared to the baby). It was too wide for the rocking chair and the baby would be positioned way above me, so I couldn't breat feed. I also preferred to hold the baby close to me and breast feed. Why put it on something that would separate you from the baby. I think the physical contact with the baby is very important. I gave them both away. Maybe others liked them, but I didn't, at all.

Hi A.,
I did not breastfeed and I still have a Boppy. They are worth the money but you can find them way cheaper than $40.00. I use it to help my little girl keep her balance while learning how to sit. It also helps her to play with her toys by propping her up a little higher. The cover is so easy to take off and wash also. I love her Boppy and I hope this helps you.

Look in TJ Maxx, I saw them for 15 or 20 there. I liked them because when I had to feed my daughter with the bottle in bed I could keep her close while doing so. You know when you are half asleep from the numerous times of feeding in the middle of the night. Later I used it when I needed a firm pillow. Strange but it worked for my neck. Good luck. Jen

i have 4 kids, nursed all for a year- WITHOUT THE BOPPY. if you need extra help holding up your baby, regular foam pillows (the thick ones) work really well.
