Board Games - Prior Lake,MN
Hey Ladies!
Does anyone know of any board games for 2 people? My husband and I have been playing games and we have been stuck with Monopoly, scrabble, yatzee, and cribage. Any other suggestions of any newer games out there that are fun with just the two of us? Thanks for any suggestions!

Sounds silly, but we like Jenga. My mother-in-law got us started on it. Also, Rummikube and canasta (cards).

Backgammon and dominoes come to mind. My husband and I are hooked on Super Scrabble and Yahtzee and rarely stray from those, but card games are fun too. I've always enjoyed Boggle, and haven't played it in years -but it's fun and easily played with two people.

I second the Carcasonne recommendation! Great, fun game. I have a hard time playing strategy games with my husband because he would win 90% of the time. (That's OK, because I win 90% of the time when we play the card game speed--he's smart, but not fast!) But, Carcasonne is great because I was often able to win too. Have fun!

I like Othello. It is fun and a strategy game. A single game only takes about 20 minutes, not an hour commitment of time. Also, mancala is a VERY quick easy to learn game. A game takes about 5 minutes.

Hi K.,
We like backgammon. It is a strategic game that is easy to learn but is challenging as your skill level grows. There is also cribbage in which you only need a deck of cards.
Hope this helps,
Suzy & her men

Backgammon, checkers and chess come to mind for 2 people. There are also a lot of card games. I like sequence, which can be played with 2, but I prefer playing with 3 people. Maybe dominos or triominos.

My husband got me a game called San Juan and we love playing it together. It is a card strategy game (not actually a "board" game) but it's really fun. There is a more complex version called Puerto Rico, but I've never played that one (hear it's great though).
I also like some old games from my childhood and still play them sometimes with my mom: Careers, Bargain Hunter, Life, and Sequence.
Backgammon, as others mentioned, is also very fun. Oh, Rummikub is great too!!
I have a few fun games through Discovery Toys that are designed for kids but are REALLY fun for adults too. Check out my link here: http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/karenchao The best games for adults are Word Flip, Wiz Kidz and Pick It. You can see them all in the "school age" section.

We LOVE Parchessi, and Uno....We have a blast most Saturday night, turn up the 'Old People' music too loud, play games, sometimes even drink tequila, or some other naughty beverage, just me and the Man, cheap quality entertainment that is NOT kid friendly, tehehe.
