Blood Clot - Strongsville,OH

My best friends sister had a blood clot in the uterus with her last two children. Both of them were fine. She was put on bedrest out of concern for 6 weeks I think. One of the two babies were born 5 weeks early but no other complications and was a completely healthy baby. The other went to term.

YES!! The same thing happened to me and at first when i had the bleeding i freaked out because i had miscarried before. They said as long as the baby was fine then it was not a big deal. the good thing about it was that every time i had bleeding i'd call the doctor and they'd bring me in right away and do an ultrasound just to make sure...so i got lots of extra pics of my little one! try not to worry and best wishes!

I had the same thing happen when I was a little bit farther along in my pregnancy -- it was scary, but after it ruptured, it never re-occured and the rest of my pregnancy was great! Hopefully, you will have the same outcome, from what I understood at the time, it had nothing to do with the baby and I don't think you should be alarmed.

I too had that same thing happen (with the spotting/bleeding). Ultrasound was good (and confirmed Twins)heart beats were good! Doctor said that blood clot would dissovle back into my uterus and for the spotting, it was my body trying to decide if I was really pregnant or still trying to have a period. Hang in there...it will get better...but, as always, if there is something that still bothers you...talk to your doctor right away!! Good Luck!

My sister had one at the beginning of her current pregnancy. She had actually passed some of it one morning (pretty big, like silver dollar size). Had ultrasound done, baby was fine. Baby is still great and she's about to have him any day now.

I spotted when I was 10 weeks along. The doctor did not want to see me at all until I was 12 weeks along because if I was miscarrying they couldnt do anything to stop it from happening. I went to the doc 2 weeks later and my baby was fine. Today she is a perfectly healthy 11 month old. My spotting was very brief (about1 to 2 hours). Since the doc did not want to see me, I could never confirm if I had a clot. As long as you are not cramping or in any pain, you are probably fine. Keep us posted and Congrats on your pregnancy. I hope you have a high risk ob/gyn. I know of someone else who has to take the shots. You need to be monitored closely. This person I know has had 3 kids but has been told not to have any more kids. She is pregnant again after miscarrying and is due in the summer. Good luck to you and GOd bless.

Hopefully I can calm your fears. I'm an ultrasound tech and see these all of the time. It is a pretty normal occurrence. It happens because a pregnancy is truly a "trauma" to the uterus, with the implantation and all. The clot is like a bruise. It resolves in time and usually with no problems to the pregnancy, just maybe a little spotting. If your doctor acted like it was not a big deal and did not suggest following up at all, then it was probably small and of no concern. Don't worry yourself. Enjoy your pregnancy!

I spotted and sometimes more during my second pregnancy with my son and completely freaked out. I was at the doctor I would say every week and a half getting multiple ultrasounds because I called just about everytime I started bleeding. My doctor was never concerned and said it was very common. Do not stress about it I'm sure the doctors would let you know if it were something serious, I know thats easier said then done, but try not to. Good luck.
