This is a question for all of you fabulous blogging mamas out there. I started a blog about 5 months ago called Savvy Suburban. I realize it takes time to build and fortunately it is growing every day but I'd like some ideas on how to drive more traffic to it.
I post regularly and I participate on a variety of social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Reddit, Bloggy Moms, Articlebase but there is more I could be doing to get more readers so I look forward to hearing your advice!
Thank you!
K.

You say that you recently started... I say you just have to give it some time. You also need to know what your subject matter will be and who your target adience is. I had a personal blog for several years and never had more than family and a few "strangers" following me. Of course, mine was very personal, as I had intended it, and was mainly used to keep our distant families up to date on our lives.
If you are covering topics that people are interested in and you write in a way that will hold their attention, you will get the traffic... just be patient. Good Luck.

What might not be popular today could snowball and be popular next year. Sounds like you have a lot of irons in the fire already. I don't know how many people follow my DIL's blog, I dont think she cares either, but I love hers, it seems easy to navigate as well. Check it out: www.vegobsession.com

My suggestion is to specialize. My post on knitting get me most of my hits and readers. Other subjects, not so much. Just like in real life you can't do everything.

I just looked at your site, and I'm confused. You just started but have a nomination from Parents magazine already for best all around blog?

I think you need to define your focus more. Savvy Suburban is a very general term and will mean different things to different people. For me it would probably be about parenting and community, but I didn't see anything in your posts that would relate back to the title for me. Just looking at the front page, the bulk of your posts was about green things (organics and ocean waste), with a couple random things about diseases. Are you a health blog? Be clearer about what you are writing about, both in the title and vibe of the page, then cross post with specific sites that might connect more directly to your content.

Hope this helps, good luck!
