Blogging

I'm considering starting to blog for money...beginning with some extra cash and possibly moving it into "real" money. Does anyone have any ideas on good blog sites to get started? Do any of you have experience with blogging for money? Can't wait to hear your stories (good and bad!). Thanks in advance wonder-moms!

I wanted to start blogging to earn some extra pocket money too. The good news? There are lots of free hosting sites that are very user-friendly to use. I use Blogger, but a lot of bloggers I know LOVE Wordpress. So those are two definite good ones to use. One nice aspect of Blogger is that you can use Google Adsense. They pay you when people visit your site and click on their ads. You can even tailor the ads to match your blog's subject matter.

The bad news? You don't really get much money from Adsense unless you get a lot of clicks. And that means you need a lot of visitors to your site. Everyone seems to be getting into blogging nowadays, so it can be hard to actually make money at it.

I've been blogging for 3 months and have slowly been building a little readership. I don't think I'll realistically make much money at this. But, I've already been hit up to write an article (for free, but I can plug my blog). I'm hoping I can increase readership. Also, I'm realizing that eventually, I may be able to charge for writing gigs. That might be where the money will be at.

The main reason why I'm still blogging is that I love to do it! It's such a great outlet and surprising therapeutic to me. I've also "met" many other great women bloggers! So definitely jump in and do it, but it may be awhile before you see any actual income!

I have no idea. My blog is out there and open for anyone to read. i use blogger. I also do not pay for any of the blogs that I read

Blogging is not a get rich quick or even get some extra cash money business. It takes an incredible amount of work to build readership enough to dream about making money off of it. It isn't impossible, but does take work. The people I know that make money off their blogs have over 1000 followers and have been at it for at least a year. And it still isn't a lot of money.

With that said, it can be done! I have been blogging for 5 months, three days a week at first and now 5 days a week. I am not making any money, but at the same time I don't have a lot of time to build readership and market it full time either. Blogging as a job is a time commitment!

Good luck with your endeavor and if you need to make money and are a fabulous writer, selling articles online and to magazines might be worthy too!

Do a Google search for paid blog jobs. There are websites like www.bloggerjobs.biz that post blogging jobs.

If you want to start your own blog, then you can use blogger or word press. It takes a ton of work to build a readership. There are thousands of bloggers and very few that actually make ANY money. Good luck!

from what I understand, the way you make money is off of ads from the site, if people click on them.
