Hi, I really want an iPhone, but they don't get great service where I need it, so ... any advice on which is better, a Blackberry or Microsoft Windows Mobile? I need to have access to multiple email accounts, instant messaging, and unlimited talking minutes because I use my phone for work. Not sure if it matters, but I'm with US Cellular.

Thanks!
C.

So What Happened?

Thank you all for the advice, I went with the BlackBerry and so far I like it (although still getting it all set up and learning how to use it!).

Catherine - interesting info, I will have to look into that more.

Sounds like you have a wonderful family and I am sure that you want only the very best for them.

About me: I am a biofeedback technician and with every client I see readings that show high radiation exposure. This was not always the case, but has increased as we began to use more and more of the technologies like cell phones, WiFi, and now digital TV. Whatever your decision with your mobile phone, I recommend that you look into getting a chip to put on it to protect both yourself and your family. Here are a couple of websites which will give you information about the need and the options for protection. Cell phones operate on microwave frequencies. http://protectkidsfrom.emf411.com

Feel free to call me if you have questions or need more information.

I have a Blackberry Curve and I love it. The best part is the keyboard which really is a must for email, especially work email. Every friend I've had who has a winmo device suffers regular crashes, reboots, etc. And the keyboard quality really varies by device.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I have the BB Storm and love it. I have my personal and business email. Need to access the Internet is a breeze. I like the access of the BB no mater what way I hold it. (no turning it around) It did take a few weeks to lean how to use it, still learning a few new things. I look at it as a mini computer-phone. Verizon has a good package. I also like the music application. No stopping or loosing what I am doing when a call comes in, take the call and go back to what I was doing. I have not found a dead area so far and have traveled with it across country. Contact me if you have more questions.

The first thing you need to do is check with the various providers in your area and see who has the best reception in your area. If they are honest they will tell you if their phones do well in your area or not. The second thing you need to do is check with people in your area who have cell phones and ask them how satisfied they are with their service and what kind of phones that they are using. I found that only 2 providers were good in my area so then I had a choice between which one was best in my area. I went with the company that most of the people were recommending to me at that time and that told me they had fairly good reception out in my area. I don't need all the applications that you need for my phone so it is not to big of a deal when I some times can't get reception.

I might add that if you live in a place like my daughter does on the Oregon coast you are going to find a lot of areas where you really cannot get any cell phone reception so if you are going to get a cell phone then you might as well go with the cheapest phone you can find that suits you.

Celena:

I would recommend a BB Curve... I have one & it's the best phone I have had by far. I don't know about plans with that phone company but I can tell you about the phone.

I am always super busy with something to do. They BB has a calendar that's super easy to use. You know what? EVERYTHING is super easy to use. Web browser is great, sending & receiving calls, texting, emails etc. I need to get emails instantly & with the BB you can set it up to where your phone receives them... instantly. I had the G1 before but it just wasn't for me. My OB actually had a G1 as well but she didn't like it either. She asked how I liked my BB & I told her to get it, she wouldn't regret it... & she didn't! My BB has taken some serious falls (I have a toddler) but it still works GREAT! Pretty durable for a smart phone. I just bought a clear hard case to put over it. I would go with the BB, I am sure you WON'T be disappointed. Actually you might... everyone has a phone for them. I would say try it out & if you don't like it, take it back & get the other phone you are looking at. :) Hope that helps... Ciao!
