Biting During breastfeeding...won't Take a Bottle!
My 6 month old daughter recently got her first 2 front teeth. She has since bit me on both breasts so bad that it drew blood. They are so sore that I'm scared to feed her. What's worse is that she refuses the bottle. I've tried them all! HELP!!

Are you giving the baby formula or breast milk in the bottle? If formula, have you tried a different brand or variety of formula, like soy? I've heard to wait a week and then try again. IF no luck, I'd ask your pediatrician. Or try looking on babycenter.com. Good luck!

Try a SOFT flick on your babys nose each time she bites you... NOT hard, just enough to get her attention, after a few days she will catch on that when she bites mommy that she gets flicked and she will not do it any more. I breast fed both my girls and they both bit when they got teeth... and both stopped soon after doing this. Dont stop breast feeding. it such a wonderfull thing you can do for your baby!!! Nipple shields are also a wonderfull suggestion if your nipples have been hurt. Good luck!!

HA! I'm actually going through the same thing. My daughter is 7-months-old and has two tiny teeth as well! I know the feeling, trust me! I actually tried cold formula. I did not warm it up, because I figured since she is teething, the cold will help numb the pain. I think feeding her regular baby food helps transition baby to bottle and sippy cups. You should try that if you already haven't. Good LUCK to you!!

Hi! Have you tried a nipple shield? I used one with my third child, because he was having a hard time latching on. It helped keep me from getting sore and was a barrier when he occassionally tried to bite! They sell them at Babies R us by Arrowhead Mall. Hope this is helpful!
