Hi - I am still new to the area and would like to start planning my son's 4th birthday party and I am not sure what would be a good place, I would like something in Sandy/Draper area so he can invite some friends from his preschool. I would love to have it at a park, but his birhtday is in November and I am not sure of the weather - so i was thinking maybe a bouncy house or chuckie cheese or does anyone have any good or bad experiences at these types of places. This will be his 1st birthday party event away from home. Thanks

What can I do next?

One of my favorite Birthday party ideas for little boys is the fireman party. So easy!! (Call fire dept. to book ahead of time)Start out by giving them each a fireman hat (their party favor)and head to the firestation. The firemen will give them a presentation, coloring books, sticker, etc. Then they get to look at all the fire trucks and sit up on the seats. The firemen will sound the sirens for them. After that, maybe go back home or to a park for cake, presents, and games. (Maybe some fireman related games or relays) Familyfun.com should have some good ideas!
2. Look at familyfun.com for some other fun party ideas.

H. -
I know you have heard about Jungle Jim's in the Sandy area, that is where we took our 4 year old boy along with some friends, it was a big hit!!!
Another place my boy has gone to lately is Kangaroo Zoo. I sdon't remember the address, you could find them on their website, just Google it. It is a bounce house with all kinds of fun stuff indoors, like glow in the dark miniature golfing. Another fun place is Classic. (I think that is the name). It's located just East off I-15 at about 9200 South. The place has waterslides for the Summer, but it had so much to do inside, the boys and girls had so much fun! Hope some of these ideas help.

Have you ever been to Jungle Jim's? Its awesome! Its like a little indoor amusement park just for little kids. Rides and games and slides etc. They do party packages and have food there etc. Its really fun. One of my friends had her son's 4th there and it was a blast! My daughter who is almost 3 keeps begging to go back.

Boondocks might be a good place, but I have no idea of their costs. There are all types of things to do and a cafeteria dedicated to parties and such. The other thing you could do-since the party will be in the Winter is have a Beach Party or Hawaiian theme inside your house and give the kids a "bit of sunshine." Wheeler Farm might be a good place to check out too, but it is closer to Midvale and again...I don't know their prices. If it's a cold day, you could always have hot chocolate and donuts, warm foods and embrace the Winter season upon us. It really all depends on how many kids you invite and the space you need

Haven't ben myself but have heard wonderful reviews about the kid barn in Draper. It's a bounce house place that does open play, birthday parties and parents night out. I would check them out.

Try Jungle Jim or Bounce U these are fun places
I personaaly liked Bouncing one as quite few preschooler don't like the rides in Jungle jim but almost everyone likes bouncing.
Also usually the bouncing people reserve the place only for birthday parties so its less crowded

In Sandy/Draper there is a really fun place called Bouncin Off The Walls. My daughter has gone to several birthday parties at this facility and I have no complaints about it. It's a private party so there are not other children/adults that you don't know there. Chuck-E-Cheese is fun for the kids, but in my opinion a nightmare for parents. It's very difficult to keep an eye on all the children in such a crowded environment. Bouncin Off The Walls is on about 9800 South and 300 or 400 West (I think...not sure of the exact address).

Also, my daughter when she was just a little older than that went to Backyards of America that's also in that same area. It's a little further south I think. It's the same place that sells all the really cool backyard playground equipment. They have an area where the kids can play on the playground in doors and there is a little party area. Great idea too. Really fun for kids with lots of energy.

Good luck and have fun!

I took my 4 year old son this last June for his 4th birthday to Chuck-E-Cheese. It is located at 10600 South State. We only had a few kids come but they had a great time. You get the table for 90 minutes and they have a couple of options to choose from. It wasn't too expensive. I have also been to a few parties at the Jungle Jims which is also fun for the kids. Bouncin' off the walls just off the frontage road in Sandy (behind Colonial Flag) is fun for the kids. The big bouncey equipment, slide, etc in doors. But when I checked it out it was a little more than what I wanted to spend. Good luck in finding the best place for what you want to pay.

I've heard horrible things about Chuckie Cheese, but haven't personally been to a party there, or actually, even ate there before. And I've heard that Bounce U (in Sandy, I believe) has wonderful parties and is very clean and not terribly expensive (compared to other bounce houses). And I've been to a party at Backyard Adventures which was okay, but my friend (the mom of the birthday boy) thought it was too pricey for what she got.
