I did something close to an easter egg hunt where I used envelopes stuffed with stickers. Sometimes the envelopes will have a special prize tag where they can redeem it for prices. We also did pin the birthday hat on Elmo. Have fun.

For my daughters party last year...I turned her sandbox into a treasure dig. I hid plastic rings, necklaces, bracelets and other trinkets in it for them to dig through and fine. All the kids loved it, even the boys.

Hi A.! I'm a professional face painter and it's always a big hit with the kids...and sometimes the adults too! Let me know if you'd like more information! FYI - all of the paints I use are hypoallergenic, non-toxic & made specifically for the face...they're water-based professional paints.

Warmest regards,
G.

My daughter's birthday is in April...she will be four. I have found that Easter egg hunts are good for kids this age. You can designate an area for the older children with eggs that are harder to find and leave eggs out for the younger kids. I use candy to fill the eggs. May even put paper in a few special eggs for a special prize.

My suggestion is, keep it unstructured. Trying to structure games and activities for this age will just leave you frustrated. If it is going to be held in your house, you can make different "stations" of activities that they can go to and from. I had building blocks in one area, bean bag toss in another area, general toys in another area, a small slide in another area, and snacks in the kitchen. My sons were born close to Easter, so one year I hid tons of plastic eggs all over the house with one jelly bean in each. I gave the kids a bag as soon as they came in the door and as soon as they found about 8 of them they had to stop and move on to another activity. That was for my youngest son's second birthday. For my oldest son's second birthday we reserved the playground at the local park and the kids just played, ate and played with the birthday presents. I brought beach balls with us for the kids to toss around. It worked out. That was a low stress birthday. Since this is geared toward your 2 yr. old, I wouldn't worry about separate entertainment for a 6 year old. Usually they don't mind playing with the younger kids and helping out with their activities. Hope this helps.

Hi A....I took my daughter to a friends 4yo party and was surprised to see one game was SO SIMPLE but the kids loved it! They took 2 cupcake/muffin baking tins. Put a beach towel or 2 regular towels on the floor and let them bounce nickles off the towel into the pans. She put tape with numbers on the underside of the cups...the # determined how many prizes...pennies or stickers that they won! Cute...simple and any child can toss the coins! Best of Luck!

Crafts are always a great idea and they can be cheap too. You can have the kids each decorate thier own homemade birthday hats or if you are doing a pinata they can decorate party bags, usually brown paper bags or Easter is comming do Easter Bunny crafts find a stencil trace enough foe everyone, help them cut them out and paste on cotton balls and decorations , this works well with flowers for spring decor too, then they have something to take home and hang on the fridge. Another great one is sugar cookies let them each decorate thier own bake them and put them in thie treat bags to take home! As far as games go, hot potato, musical chairs make your own homw made pin the what ever on the what ever,(like pin the cherry on the ice cream, this one is very eay to make with brown paper bags and each kid gets a sticker to use as the cherry) Red rover red rover is a great out door game. If the party is close to easter you can also dye easter eggs!! Have Fun and just think back to when you were a kid!!

Bubbles. There are several bubble machines out there for $10-$20. This was a huge hit at my daughter's 2yr party.
Coloring. We printed off several copies of coloring sheets that went with the party theme.
Stickers. Our theme was Willy Wonka so I bought plastic top hats & had candy stickers for the kids to decorate them with.
Pictures. I made a stand-up of an Oompa Loompa and made sure to get a picture of each child sticking their face through it. These went in the thank you cards.
Food. The food can be fun. We had a chocolate fountain (small one on sale for $20), but you could decorate cupcakes, top your own pizzas, etc.
Balls. We were indoors, but it was a large empty room. We bought several multi color/size balls and let the kids have open play time.
Freeze Dance. This is a game my daughter loves. Even if they don't get the "freeze" concept they'll have fun dancing!
Stations are best for younger ones. It's hard to organize them all to play the same game at the same time. Have fun!!
