My son's 3rd b-day is quickly approaching and we are trying to figure out where to have his party. We expect 10-15 boys and girls from his class. I am at a loss as to where to go for this age group. We are anti Chuck e cheese and he doesn't like bounce houses. I am thinking the park but husband is against that. Thinking maybe McDonalds, it's only $7.00 a child and everything is included. Sounds like a cheap way to go. Just not sure if kids have there parties there or not still.

So please if you have any suggestions on great places to have parties I would love to hear them.

Thank you!

I think a Firehouse party would be great. They can climb on the trucks and see how they put on their fire gear. I had one when I was little and so did my daughter. It was free, we had to bring tables and chairs. We gave a donation to the firehouse. I had pizza, cake and ice cream with sodas. The volunteer firemen/women ate too. It was a great party!

I'm not sure what ages the other children will be at your party but we had a Scribble Cakes party at the park where the kids decorated their own cakes in an animal theme. We rented a pavilion. The kids had so much fun! It is a new birthday idea in the DFW area. I found them on Facebook. I checked my email to get their information. It is below if you are interested.

Sorry if I'm repeating what others suggested, but I didn't read your responses. What about ASI gymnastics? They always do a great job and kids of all ages love it!

Allen has some of the best parks around. You could certainly take advantage of that and having one at Celebration Park on Angel Parkway or the one off of Exchange. You also have the nice McDonald's at McDermott or on Stacy. We had my son's 2nd birthday at McDonalds, the one off of Jupiter and 190. It had a great playroom and was free to use. We just bought a gift card and allowed people to get food as they arrived. The Allen Natatorium is also a great place to have a party. They have private rooms and the kids could "swim" in the indoor kids area.

When my daughter was 3 we had her party at the park. It was beautiful weather and we chose one with a gazebo (just in case it did rain). I had a craft activity but mostly they just played and ran around, ate cake and ice cream and my daughter opened her presents. I like the firehouse idea too...my nephew did that when he turned 3 and they even let all the kids help hold one of the fire hoses with the water running--they got a big kick out of that. Only one thing (and this is what they tell us at our fire station) is that if there is an emergency they will need to go out on the call so the fire truck may not be there. Normally it's just a quick call and they are back soon enough. I know these are not new ideas but thought I would suggest you reconsider the park idea.

I would do the McDonald's party. He's 3. That's the perfect age for that type of party. Not to mention that most kids LOVE happy meals, and it would be a change of pace from pizza.

We have all these playplaces around us, look online for children's playplaces or birthday parties in your area. Ours have like the playplaces McDonalds & B.K. use to have but way better!!! McDonalds is a thing of the past when it comes to parties! Also the zoo or the aquarium are great places for parties! We even took our son to a farm party once, they pet the animals & got to have a picnic, very cute!

When my daughter was that age we did Planet Pizza - they have little kiddie rides, play area, kiddie games. I would also suggest Little gym - my daughter went to a party there and it looked like they were having fun. I've heard Gymboree music is good. Slappy's Puppet Playhouse may be a good different choice - its a marrianette puppet show at the Galleria - they do birthday parties. Any kind of art places like Kids n Art - I don't know what's in your area. The Zoo also does birthday parties. If you are brave enough to have a home party, when my daughter was around that age we did a princess and pirate party and had the kids come dressed up and did some themed games - they had a blast. They don't need much at that age really. If you want something nice outdoors, the Dallas Arboretum is featuring 7 different fairytale castles right now - just opened last weekend. You can bring in your own food, and there are picnic tables, so you could do cupcakes or even a little picnic.

My daughter just turned 6 and wanted a music party, so we did it at home. I just made some mixed CDs of their favorite Disney music and let them dance and have a good time, play games like freeze dance and musical chairs, and had lots of little percusion instruments to play with. Also had guitar cutouts for them to decorate with markers, glitter glue, and stick on jewels - they loved it. I did it in the afternoon, so we just had cake and ice cream, then we had a pinata outside. They were very entertained, and it didn't take much really. By the way, I don't know if you like to bake your own cake or not, or if you have a place you like to go to, but I want to highly recommend a lady I have used for my daughter's cakes the last 2 years. Her name is Tiffany Dyer and her website is http://icedartistry.blogspot.com/. She is not with a large bakery, though she used to be, so she knows what she is doing, she works alone. Her cakes are so delicious that every mother at my daughter's party asked for her info - and they look even better! She is awesome too because she works with you to custom design exactly what you want that will fit in your price range, and her prices are a small fraction of what the larger bakeries charge! If you check out her website, the Green heart shaped cake with Cinderella and her Coach is the cake she made for my daughter last year. It was unbelievable!
Good luck!!

If you do the party at an time other than meal time (try like 2-4) you aren't expected to provide a meal. You could just provide snacks, drinks, and cake. I like the park idea if the weather will be nice enough where you are at that time. Kids that age really like activity so that is perfect. Or you could have it at your house or maybe your church's fellowship hall. Pick a theme and do a few theme-based activities to entertain them (games, crafts, etc.).

At that age the 10-15 kids may easily become 5-8.
