Birthday Party for 8Yr Old Daughter

I have always done my kids birthday parties at home. This year, I really want to do something more fun for all of them. My youngest daughter will be turning 8, and I wanted to invite the whole class, plus our family and a couple of friends. I want to do something away from home, in Denton, but I want to spend around $150. I've researched online, but I don't see anywhere that I could do it that cheaply. I may end up having her choose a few girls from her class, instead. Does anyone have any ideas?

Although my daughter's birthday is in the winter, we had aswimming party at the indoor (heated) pool at the Natatorium (at the water park). Every thought it was really cool to be swimming in the middle of winter.

Last year and we plan to do this again this year. The First Baptist Church of Denton rents out their gym for $50 an hour (so $100 2 hours for a birthday party). If you're a member it is less - not sure because I am not a member. They have a bounce house and large bounce slide that is included and playing with balls in the gym. You also have use of the kitchen area for the party. There are employees there but no one to "run" the party. You have to clean up the kitchen area - basically make sure everything is thrown away - not sweep or mop. My son had a blast and asked to do it again. You will have to bring in your own food, drinks, paper products, and goodies bags - which you can do for less than the birthday party places charge you.
We have also done birthday parties at the park - North Lakes and rented a picnic area with around 4 tables with a cover for $25.

Denton rec centers have good birthday parties and are very inexpensive!!!
We had my sons at Denia park and for 15kids not including the birthday child was $75. That was with the bounce house, scooters, bouncy balls and basketball. they set up party tables and have balloons. Extra kids are I believe $3.
They also have different themes. You can look at their website by going to www.cityofdenton.com they go to parks and recreation.
You could also rent a pavillion at North lakes park, for $50 and we rented a bounce house for my oldest sons birthday for $150 for 6 hours and they set it up at the park. So they had the bounce house and also the park to play on. Even the adults had a blast!
Hope this helps!

YES! In Denton, you can rent the REC centers (through parks and recreation) for $150, or cheaper. You get a party host, and you can pick from several themes, like Hannah Montana, High School musical, etc. You can invite 20+ guests. I've also been to ones with no party host, no theme... the parents just rented out the party room.

What about Eureka Park depending on the weather, or even the mall a scavenger hunt would be fun. You could plan games at the Park, potato sack run, you could find plenty of things online.
