up to you check your schedule, see if having it out then what's available.

No rules- just do what is most convenient for you! Have fun!

Hi D.,
Not sure of the age of your daughter...but in my son't pre-school, some moms are opting for midweek parties because the places are less busy/crazy (Kid Company, Chuck E. Cheese) This has worked well but some still prefer to do a weekend, so the dad is available to help as well, without having to take a day off. I would say you should do whatever works best for you. It does not have to be on the actual day. Just make sure to invite everyone early enough so they can plan for it. You can always do a little something special on her actual birthday if you decide to have the party on a weekend! Good luck!

I have always done the weekend after, but it is whatever works best for your schedule. In addition to the official weekend party, I would have a small cake and family dinner on the actual birthday. My kids love it cause they get 2 cakes! Hope that helps :-)

I always felt that the party should be before the birthday. It kind of helps to build the excitement and I find that once the birthday is over- that's it. You don't have weeks of gift giving and parties.
