I am trying to come up with ideas for my sons 3rd birthday party. He loves trains and trucks. We are just doing a family party. Last year we took him on his first train ride with the entire family and took the train to a pizza place where we had pizza and celebrated his birthday. It was a fun time and memorable. Want to do something special like that again this year, any ideas?

What can I do next?

What about a trip to a firehouse? He might like to see the firetrucks.

all the kids bring dump trucks somewhere ( your back yard, a park ). make a dirt enviroment or track and let the boys run the trucks all over the path.

have you seen the idea of the cake ??? dump truck with choc cup cakes on the back frosted and then oreo crumbled all over the cupcakes . Maybe if you google it, you will find that.

For my oldest daughters 5th birthday, we did a party at the park and had a firetruck come out. They showed the kids around and let them try on their hats. They even brought out an ambulance as a bonus and took blood pressures and gave each one a print out to take home...parents got ekg's. It was free and the fire-fighters were really great with the children.

We just had my son's 4th b-day at All Aboard Diner in Downers Grove. It is a train themed resteraunt that delivers the food by train. They have a really cool interactive train the kids love to play with. With the party package you get an hour at the counter to eat and then a private party room for cake and presents. We had our party during the week at night and it really wasn't crowded. The kids loved it. It's a fun place to eat. Good luck!

Have you brought him yet to Cho Cho Johnny's or All Aboard Diner? They are those train themed restaurants. The kids sit at the counter (& adults too) the train brings them their food on the track, they sing happy birthday, the whole restaurant is train themed. Have some games too. My 3 year old loved it. We still go for his birthday every year
