Birthday Gift for a Friend

I was wondering if any of you have given or gotten a really thoughtful gift that you loved. I want to buy something for a good friend of mine for her birthday, but I am having a really hard time thinking of something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What can I do next?

I loved getting personalized stationery/note cards from my sister. I really like using stationerystudio.com. On their site you can pick from hundreds of designs, colors, etc. from classic to funky.

I love the store Naka in downtown Ferndale for great gift ideas. Also, I just ran across an online store called "greenglass.com" that sells great glass gifts made of recycled and reclaimed wine and beer bottles. They look great and are reasonably priced for a unique gift.

M.,

Something that I do when I know I am going to be getting a gift for some in the near future, or if its someone I buy for every year for birthdays, anniverseries, or for Christmas, is try to be ovservant. Listen when they are talking. Is there something that they particularly need? Maybe there is something they mention in passing during the year that they would love to have? Something they mention that they saw and just loved. Have you ever gone shopping together and seen her admire something yet put it back on the shelf?

If you happen to notice any of these things when your with someone or just talking to them, make a mental note! I even have a little notebook that I will jot gift ideas down into for family and friends and when the occasion arises that I want to give a gift, I have a resource to turn to, and its customized and very personal. Most of the time the recipient is very pleasantly suprised and wants to know how I knew that they wanted/needed it. The secret is just being a good listener, and jotting down a few notes. I hope this was helpful to you.
