I have nieces that age who are as different as can be. One liked stuff like jewelry, clothes , nailpolish. I got her fun jewelry. The other one likes games, cool science stuff, and things for outdoors. The last gift I got her was this awseome book about dragons.
My 11-year old wanted money and gift cards for her birthday. She loves being able to shop for stuff herself to buy the things she wants.
I have a young teenage daughte and Target gift cards are always a big hit popular with Tween and teens as long as there is one in her city. They can get anything they like this way
In my area, 11 yr old girls like Justice(clothing store), ITunes, movie theater tickets, and Bath & Body Works. Even though parents probably shop there, the girls wouldn't think Target or Walmart gift cards are "cool". How about a gift certificate (online of course) for Amazon.com?
Mine always liked jewelery. You can get quality jewelery reasonably inexpensive. My 22,20,and 19 yr old girls
still have pcs they rec'd as pre teens. Maybe put it in a small jewelery box for her. Post office has flat rate mailers starting at 4$.
Your best bet is some type of gift card. For my daughter it would be Barnes & Noble or I-Tunes. A Target gift card is a good choice, because then they can buy a toy, a book, some clothes, etc.
If she likes jewelry a nice pair of earings or a necklace is a good choice.
i got my niece a 88 shimmer palette from ebay and some glittery nail polish and she absolutely loved it i also sent her a $20 gift card to walmart so she could buy what ever she wanted she was so happy!
My friend's daughters love gift cards to "Claires", also - craft kits, gift cards to Barnes & Noble or B-Dalton booksellers, and Webkinz - always a hit.
The 13 year old is starting to get into makeup - and had been asking for things like shower gel & body lotion for the last couple of years. I feel like she'll have plenty of time to be an adult - so I always opted for more child friendly things - like the craft kits, gift cards, and webkinz. Also - jewelry- I've given them real (14K) small age appropriate earings, and gold bangle bracelets that they loved.
Kids this age... are hard to shop for and predicting what they will like.
They like to have money... gift cards etc., so they can 'shop' themselves and chose things.

One of my girls would love jewelry and other girl stuff like beauty kits etc. The other would be thrilled if I got her a huge art supply kit because she likes to draw and make up her own stories/cartoons.
