Birthday Cake for One-year Old with Milk, Egg and Peanut Allergies

My son, who is about to turn one, is allergic to milk, eggs and peanuts. I would like for him to have a small birthday cake at his party. Does anyone know of a bakery that sells them? I live in Allen. I'd rather buy but am not opposed to baking one myself so would also like to know of a good recipe. I know that Cherrybrook farms has a mix and frosting but I can't find it at the Kroger near my house. Any ideas will be much appreciated!!

What can I do next?

Thank you everyone for their advice! I ended up making the wacky cake/crazy cake and you can't tell it doesn't have milk or eggs! After all that, my son only put his hand in the frosting and then wouldn't get near it because he didn't like the way it felt. But, since I'm still nursing, I haven't had cake since I found out about his allergies so I ended up eating a majority of the cake and loved it!

I bake and decorate from home and one of my most favorite websites is www.cakecentral.com. It has recipes and forums where people post results and ideas all the time about what they have found and tried and tested. I know there are allergy recipes on there so give it a shot.
Hope this helps!

whole foods carries that mix that you are talking about. Also, I think central market carries that brand. Market street MIGHT carry it. At Kroger you might want to look in their organic/specialty section. As for a bakery specializing in those allergies, I don't know. There is a great place called Laura's Bistro in Plano that does gluten free stuff. They might know of a place that could do a cake for you. Good luck!

Try the Wacky Chocolate cake recipe. We tried the Cherrybrook Farm's cake and honestly it tasted like sweet cornbread to us. The texture is very dry. I did the Wacky Cake and everyone begged for the recipe. Also icing is Very Simple! I will never buy it again. Buy butter flavor Crisco sticks, pure vanilla flavor and powdered sugar. You just combine about 1 lb or the sugar with 1/2 stick of Crisco, 1 tsp of vanilla and add water as needed. Use a mixer and it whips right up! I know that most of the Pillsbury frostings do not contain milk or peanuts. I am not positive about eggs though.

SuperTarget does carry Cherrybrook Kitchen and even has the premade frosting along with the mix.

My daughter has a dairy allergy, and we substitute Fleischmann's unsalted margarine or Earth Balance in the brown tub...but I am not 100% that they're dairy free. Both make great frosting; you almost can't tell the difference.

Also, be sure to check out www.kidswithfoodallergies.org. They have a great recipe database.

Bake your own with your favorite recipe only use "almond milk" and "egg replacer." Both sold at places like Whole Foods or Central Market. Also, I highly encourage you not to use sugar- use honey instead!

Check out Indian Bakeries. The Vegetarian ones have alot of options. I know my Indian friends use a bakery in Richardson. Have a look on the web.

Try Laura's Bistro. It is located at 930 W. Parker, Suite 420 in Plano. It is open Tues thru Sat. Tel ###-###-####.

Here is a recipe if you're up for making it yourself. I will have to do the same for my daughter's birthday as she is allergic to milk. Good luck to you!
