I had an IUD placed when I was 6weeks post partum so I have had it for about 2 months and love it I have no side effects. I have a little spotting but that should go away in a month or so. Plus there is a chance my periods will be really light or not at all.

T....You don't even have to get the continuous pills you can do it with the regular monthly pills...all you do is skip your sugar pills (the last week) and start on a new pack for 3 months and then you'll have your period. My doctor told me about this and I LOVE it...no pains for 3 months...wow! It's great! :)

I take Seasonale, and I have my period every 3 months. I've been on it since February. I had a little bit of spotting during the final month of the first 3-month cycle, but I haven't had any spotting since then. My doctor said it's normal to spot during that first cycle, until your body gets used to it.

I get very irritable during PMS, and I suffer from migraines during my period, so it's wonderful to only deal with it 4 times a year. I've had no weight gain or anything like that. I've been extremely pleased.

I don't recomend the shot. I was on it for about a year and gained 20lbs and I still had like a couple day period. Plus it took 3yrs to get pregnant after I was off. I am on the nuva ring now and I really like it its a lot easier to remember than the pill and its not uncomfortable.
You can also keep that in for 3mo to keep from having a period.
So you only have 4 a year.

Not having insurance for over a year I know that B/C is expensive. I have found a great solution for that problem Planned parent hood.. they base how you pay on your income.. I like the shot (depo) and for me I was paying $35 every 3 months and you dont have to pay for an office visit to get the shot either.. I don't know much about the othe B/C you were talking about but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call they are located on elm rd behind the urgent care!! Hope this helps

I tried it and it didnt work for me...I kept bleeding through...It was like I was having a period constantly because my body was used to one every month! I don't recommend it

I personally loved seasonale (I think that's spelled right), the only thing is, you may need to check with your insurance copmany to make sure they cover it. My insurance company does not, so my doctor has graciously offered to give me free samples.

I did try this last year, and it was ok, I did have spotting inbetween. It's common. It was nice to not have to deal with the period. I eventually got off of it so we could get pregnant. It took about 7-8 month before I got pregnant, just an FYI.

I did the no period thing for awhile and it got me really sick, I talked to a differnt obgyn( my current one) and she is totaly against it, she told me in studies not having your periods on a regular basis has and may cause cervical cancer. I now natuarally don't have periods due to a sickness so I actually take meds to make me have them every month so won't get cancer.

I am on the continous pill so I have a period once a year and things are great!! The downside is when you what to have another child it will take double the time the doctor told me and you may have trouble at first other than those downfalls everything is good.

I am on the continuous pill but it does take your body some getting used to. I am on Seasonale that you are suppose to take for 12 weeks then have a week break. The downsides, until your body gets used to the cycle, you can get break through bleeding. I was having break through bleeding after about 6 weeks so my ob told me to do the pills for 6 weeks and take my week break. So, I have a period every 6 weeks. My periods are only 3 days though and they are very light. I don't need anything more that a panty liner. Another down side is if you miss a pill, you will get break through bleeding. But the upside is, unlike the shot, you can immediately go off the pill and get pregnant. With the shot, it is not that simple. After the birth of my second child, I went through the everyday low dose (not enough hormone and I had bleeding every week) and the nuva ring (I felt uncomfortable while intiment with my husband). I have to say I am very happy with seasonal.

I took the Depo-Preva injection for almost 2 years. I loved it. I didn't have any additional weight gain. I only had mild spotting every three months at the time of my next injection. No real period. I went off it only because we wanted another baby. It only took 5 months. I intend to go back on it after I deliver.

My doctor has me on continuous pills too. After my daughter was born I was having periods about every 10 days. I haven't noticed any side effects like weight gain, I don't have periods, but do notice a grouchy week every month or so. I don't know about how long to get pregnant, but I plan to start trying in a few months so I stopping the continuous and going to go back to regular cycles now before going off completely...we'll see. I've been on the shot for 3 yrs now and I love it. The only time I have any spotting is when I am really stressed. And as far as weight gain, I think that is common with just about everything, it just depends on how well you take care of yourself as to if you gain weight or not. Good luck!
