Hi
can anyone recommend a good store in or near Naperville or website for birth announcements? I am looking for a photo announcement printed on cardstock, not photo paper. Ideally it would have blue in it, but plain, no ribbons, preprinted animals or sayings. Thank you

So What Happened?

We finally decided on bonjourbaby. Jodi was very responsive and customized the announcement based upon the photo that we chose. She sent proofs with different customization options to choose from. The paper quality is fabulous. I highly recommend them.

Hi S.,
I am a distributor of personalized stationary products. My business is called Paper Pizazz. The characters are all hand drawn by an artist who is the sister of the owner. There is no website due to copying concerns. I would be happy to send you a binder of character drawings and samples. You could make them cute or formal. We have a light blue card stock, among others, and can incorporate a photo. You customize it with font style, ink color, characters, and available borders. Give it a look. I also do mom & grandmother notepads which are very popular for moms with school age children and teacher note pads which are great for gifts. My name is C. and # is ###-###-####.

Ditto to Papier Girl or tinyprints.com... both have great birth announcements! Papier Girl is on the corner of Jefferson & Webster in downtown Naperville. We just had a baby and used Vistaprint.com. My friend, who is a graphic designer replicated an announcement I found online, and then I uploaded it to Vistaprint for a fraction of the cost per announcement. I haven't seen them yet, as they are scheduled to arrive today or tomorrow! Good luck!

I used tinyprints.com for my son's announcements and they turned out great. I too, wanted something simple, plain and classic and they had a ton to choose from.

We also wanted to do announcements like you described. The least expensive that we found were on shutterfly.com. They turned out very nicely!

Hi S.,
I have a great website for you. A couple of years ago I ordered my holiday cards from bonjourbaby.net. They were made of thick cardstock with the photo I submitted. They were beautiful! I received so many compliments on them. My friend liked them so much that she ordered her birth announcements from them. They are a little pricey, but most cardstock ones are. Back then, it was one woman who started the company and she was very pleasant to work with, and if I remember correctly, she was out of Naperville. If it turns out to be a little more than you'd like to spend, check out autumns-creek.com. I just had my third baby and didnt' want to spend a whole lot on birth announcments. They were on photo paper, but they turned out great. Their designs are very simple too. Plus, both websites allow you to customize as you like. Good luck with your search. If you want more ideas look on ebay. That's where I found both of these companys. It's also how I get great, customized birthday party invites as well! Take care, M.

I'm not sure what you are looking to spend but Papier Girl in downtown Naperville does custom cards/announcements. I'm sure they could do what you are looking for. You can get the exact address from the website.

Party City has a new invitation/announcement center in the Orland Park store. I was pleasantly surprised at their selection, but found out about it only recently, so have not used them. Maybe the Naperville store has this, too?

If you're looking to do it yourself, try card & party outlet. I've seen boxes of 50 similar to what you're describing for $10!
