A.,
I had one done and it was a little uncomfortable kind of like a pap smear. I don't think I even felt when they did the biopsy. I was pregnant at the time and did experience a little cramping after so I took it easy and all was well. You should do fine. Again, for me it was kind of like getting a pap smear. Good luck.

It doesn't hurt at all. The worst is it feels like at tiny pinch and you're done. I had the same thing happen to me six weeks after my son was born. I was told that the whole pregnancy will trigger the abnormality that most women seem to get right after birth. Fingers crossed everything will be OK.

I just had this done last week. I did not take any pain medication beforehand. It was uncomfortable when the needle went in for the numbing medicine. It burned slightly and lasted like 15 seconds (like a bee sting). After that I felt nothing and the biopsy is so small that I didn't even notice when the medicine wore off. I told myself that if I can make it through labor then I could do this too! Best of luck to you!

There two biopsy types that I know of. One is a sonogram biopsy and the other is a static biopsy. They don't hurt as much as they are uncomfortable. The sonogram is just what it says it is; they use the sonogram to look at the abnormality. The static is a little more intense. They numb your breast with a topical substance. Also, putting an ice pack on for a few minutes before the procedure will prevent bruising. Of the two, this one is more uncomfortable. Find out which you are having. If you are anxious and want something to keep you calm, talk to your doctor and she'll probably give you something. Please let me know how you are!

I would ! My experience was it really hurt !!! Doctors
don't always know if there has been any nerve or vien growth under what that are removing and some times the removal is deeper than they think it will be, not trying to scare you but my 2 minute procedure ended up being 1hr 30min. I had both on a small(grape size)tumor and
it bled a whole lot then required stiches. Just go in with no expectations and God's reassurance that it will all be okay. Oh yes, mine was negative !!

I had one in April. It hurt so bad I almost threw up. I've read your other replies and Im suprised. The dr. said it would hurt, but mine was worse than most because my cervics is so deep. He actually had to do it again right before my sergery so I was knocked out.

They should deaden the area. You would feel pressure. If it hurts they probably didn't deaden it enough.

Why did your dr do a pap after giving birth ONLY 7 weeks ago?!?!?! Usually they wait because it is normal for a pap to come back abnormal after giving birth because your body is not back to normal yet.
