Ok ladies!! I wanted to get something really cool for my soon to be 5 year old girl who is such a tomboy and hangs with the big kids just fine. I have two questions: 1.) Is it fair to give a kid a bike for Christmas when they can't even use it for several more months? 2) If you know, which is better, the Razor rip-rider or the Huffy Green Machine?
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

I say YES to the bike!!

My boys have both the Razor and the Bikes - they use them both...it all depends upon their mood!!

I'm planning to get my son a bike for Christmas, he can ride it in the basement or garage until the snow melts!

We used to ride our bikes in the winter when I lived up north. You can shovel the driveway, put down litter or saw dust and let her do circles and figure 8s.
A bike is THE iconic Christmas gift. It's the wide eyes amazing WOW gift. Go for the glory.

I say yes get the bike. We had gotten my daughter a bike for christmas and I let her ride it in the house. We lived in PA at the time so it was too cold outside. I am sorry I don't know which is better. I would check out on line reviews of them both from different websites.

Absolutely! A bike is an awesome Christmas present...Santa delivers lots of bikes--how does he do that? That's what basements and garages are for.
LOTS of kids get bikes for Christmas--even in snowy Pennsylvania.....
As for which bike--no clue. Sorry :(

I never did a bike for Christmas for my kids but only because they all have spring birthdays. Don't know what it is like where you are at but around here we get a lot of indian summers so they may be able to get some use.

Troy and I bought ourselves bikes for Christmas last year and we took them out any time we wouldn't freeze to death. Yeah we are big kids.

I have no idea about those bikes my kids are a bit older.

I have not gotten my daughter a bike for Christmas. Here in Minnesota it can be May before we ride bikes outdoors. And we don't have any indoor space big enough for practicing. We do have a basement big enough for a Razor scooter and a Pogo stick, though. Both gifts she has really loved!

I have an end of Novenber birthday. My whole childhood I watched my sister , the MArch Bday girl, get the cool gifts and clothes, like swimsuits and bikes. I got inside toys and turtle necks. ugh

Get her the bike.

Huffy's are excellent bikes. :) I got my son a bike for Christmas and he liked it, however he just isn't interested in riding it. We got him to try it a couple of times, but just didn't want to ride it. We ended up selling it in a yard sale. I probably won't get him a bike again until he absolutely expresses interest in it. He didn't the last time and I should have known better than to get him one. lol

I grew up in California, and I've ridden a Huffy bike (loved it), and when I got a little older, my Mom and Dad got me what we call a "Beach Cruiser". I absolutely love those bikes. I was able to hop curbs, do wheelies, do bunny hops on it...It was a lot of fun. They still make them, but here in AZ they call them different. They have the wide seat which is so comfy, and the wide tires which make for a smooth ride. Growing up I could never get use to those tiny seats. They hurt the keester. lol The Huffy's have comfy seats too. :-)

I wouldnt buy my kids a bike or scooter, razor zip-rider for xmas... they couldnt use it till 4 months later and i would not chip ice away off the driveway so they could use them, plus 5 minsutes outside with them in the winter and they would be done anyways... but thats me ;)
