Best Way to Sell Baby Items

Hi. I was wondering what some of you have done to sell your used baby items. I was thinking about having a garage sale but my husband and I can remember having one several years back and hated doing it and that was even before having any children to watch after while doing it! I also thought about trying Craig's list but don't like the fact of having to weed through all the people and waiting longer to sell it. Which one do you suggest? Also if you have any "tips" on having a garage sale they would be very appreciated!
Thanks,
C.

What can I do next?

Well it looks as if Craig's list is the route I will be taking. Thanks so much for your help!

Craigslist all the way!!

I love Craigslist for selling baby items! I personally would pick craigslist any day over having to sit outside all day and set up the garage/yard to sell items. Also, people are willing to pay more for your items on craigslist then what you would make for them in a garage sale. You can communicate over email only or give out your number which is something I do if we're in a hurry to sell it.
My Husband and I have been using craigslist for the past year now and I have no complaints.
BTW, I'd love to hear what type of items you are selling.
I'm due to have another baby boy on April 1st and we're still looking for a few items.

There are consignment places, try just between friends, their website is jbfsale.com. They have large sales a couple of times a year, check it out.

I consign my items, and what doesn't sell I donate. There are at least 3 consignment sales coming up in Feb. & March that I know of. Let me know if you need the info and I'll gladly pass it on.

I have sold items on Craigslist as well, and you will probably get the most for your money that way. But people only what name brand items (Gap, Gymboree, etc.) & new or very gently used.

Blessings!

I have a busy 20m and 3y as well!!

JBF!! It's a huge baby/kid consignment sale that is coming up in February. They have it at the Mesquite Rodeo Hall and it's a terrific place to sell your stuff!

You just enter your items into their online database along with the prices you want to sell them for, print out the generated tags and attach them to your stuff, and drop off the items at the Rodeo hall. You can track what's sold and what hasn't online, and even specify if you want certain items back if they don't sell, or you want to donate them to charity.

Just do a garage sale. I don't like Craig's list either - some people say they want to buy an item, you make an appt to show the item, and they either don't show up at all after you changed your personal schedule to accomoodate them or they do show up and decide not to purchase after you given them numerous pics and a detailed description of the item. I found it's not worth the aggravation.

My tip for the garage sale - is FRIDAY 1/2 day and Saturday early, till noon. On Friday, most of your items will more than likely be gone - you will attract the serious garage saler crowd. Also, save yourself the time of pricing items. People will always ask for a lower price anyways so there is not point on pricing items. I always schedule Salvation Army or another charity to come pick up the items on that Saturday or monday afterwards so I don't have them around the house or if it's not inconvenient, you can take them to the drop off stations around the city.
Good Luck!

We use craigslist.com it is awsome! all you have to do is upload the pics and name a price. People will call you. make sure you list it in the DFW area.

For your things that are in great condition, have you considered selling them through local consignment sales? I'm planning to sell some stuff this spring through www.divineconsign.net. They have a pretty good website that explains how everything works. But they will reject stuff that isn't is good to great condition. If your children are like mine, that means I rarely get to sell clothes unless it's some hated item that they never wore! But for baby gear, most of it can be tidied up to look good as new. The magic eraser is your friend for reviving gear and getting rid of scuff marks!
