There is a nice little park off of Walkersprings road. just turn into the apartment complex and go straight to the park and there is a nice path to take a walk. There is only swings and a slide with picnic tables. I take my grandchildren and they love it.This is located in West Knox.

There are several GREAT parks in Knoxville with lots of fun equipment and such for the kids to play on and for you all to picnic at. One of our favorites (I have a 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old) is New Harvest Park. It's newer and has a playground and a splash park ... right next to each other! It's near the Target in East Knoxville (near East Town/Knoxville Center Mall). Another favorite is Anchor Park -- no water to play in, but a GREAT playground and a sand box (a favorite for the kids). Also picnic tables and plenty of grass, too, for a picnic. World's Fair Park (near downtown) also has a new playground (we haven't been there yet though) and has fountains, too, for the kids to play in. Have fun and enjoy! Good morning, B.! Not sure what area of Knoxville you are in, and I am very new here myself. There is a park over in Fountain City (NE Knox.) on Broadway right next to the Lion's Club; looks pretty decent from what I can tell. Also, someone had recommended Carl Cowen Park to me, which is probably more west Knox. I have not been there yet myself, so I can't really give an opinion.

Hope you enjoy your time here with your granddaugthers!!

Carl Cowen park is good; however, it is always really crowded. There are fountains there that are a lot of fun for the kids. There is also a covered picnic area. Just be aware of your kids location. This park is right on the water and there aren't any gates protecting young kids from the water.

I recommend going earlier in the day. Have fun!
