Best Product for 8 Mos Old with Red Marks (From Teething) on Face?

My 8 mos old daughter gets these red marks on the side of her mouth each day from chewing on her fingers (teething). I put Aquaphor on the marks right before her naps and right before she goes to bed each night and that seems to help a lot. Most mornings she wakes up and they are usually 90-100% gone...but then come back during the day again. My son got these as well when he was her age. I guess it is from the fingers rubbing against the face and the drool. Anyway, does anyone have a product that you recommend more than Aquaphor - ideally an organic product? Thanks!!

What can I do next?

At 20 months my son broke out in a horrible horrible rash, I think a combination of teething, wind, and allergies. I went home and put Lanolin cream on it and it was gone the next day. That was after 3 days of trying vasoline and Aquaphor, with absolutely no improvement. Its a little hard because its so thick, but if you massage the tube (to warm it) it gets a lot thinner like aquaphor--i was definitely glad I tried it.

I've been dealing with a horrible cold/sinus thing started getting dry red chapped skin under my nose, put some of that on it and it cleared up have kept it on and haven't had any problems since.

Olive oil works great, but the oil does get on sheets. Calendula is very healing and natural, without an oily residue. Try using both and alternating. Aquaphor is a good skin protector when outside in the cold winter months, so do keep that on hand also.

I second the lanolin. Its great for chapped or broken skin so I would give it a try. I'm also using jojoba oil on my daughters face regularly to prevent rashes from drool and its been working fantastic. If I keep her moisturized then I've noticed I see little to know skin problems at all.
Good luck

My son's got that too when they were babies.
A & D Ointment is good. It has lanolin and petrolum jelly in it. Softens the skin and makes a moisture proof barrier.

I recommend California baby brand its called calendula cream. They sell it at Target or even whole foods by the baby section. My daughter has red cheeks off and on because of teething and sensitive skin. I tried many creams and this one is only one that worked for him. You can apply on babies as much as you want throughout the day, it's all natural. Hope you find something that works.

We used the boogie wipes (found it worked accidentally because she had a cold :) !!) They have aloe, Vitamin E, Saline and Chamomile that seemed to clear it up. I have also used straight Aloe on it and it worked as well. The wipes are not really organic though.
