Best Place to Buy a Trampoline

I'm looking to buy a trampoline for our family and I'm a bit daunted by the options and prices out there. I'm hoping someone can steer me into the right direction.
What's a good price to pay for a quality tramp and enclosure?? Do they automatically come with enclosures these days? Are they certain brands that are crappy that I should avoid? Is there a secret place I can get a great deal?
I hear they sell good quality tramps at places like Costco or Sams Club. Has anyone had good experience with that?
Please share your tips, tricks, and experiences with buying and maintaining trampolines.
Thank you!!!

P.S. I am well aware of the risks involved with kids and trampolines. Don't worry, I plan on taking all sorts of precautions, imposing rules, and monitoring their jumping. My boys have so much energy and they need a good outlet for it. I feel this is a safer option than their current ones of jumping down the stairs, off the top of the swingset, climbing onto the counter to launch themselves off, etc. Thank you for your concern:)

P.P.S. I have already penned an email to my insurance agent. Thanks for the heads up on that. Now, please more info on brands, prices, stores, etc:)

Thank you!!!

What can I do next?

EBAY! I just happened to search for a trampoline in my local area (within 50 miles) Up popped a trampoline in the next town over. We bid, and won it for $26. Went and picked it up and the kids are as happy as can be.
The sellers werent as thrilled. :)

I did all the research a few years ago and wound up purchasing online at www.jumpsport.com. I paid more than I planned on, but when I see the difference in durability and safety from my neighbor's tramps (bought at the big box stores), the choice is clear. It is a better value in the long run and you can't put a price on safety. There is also an option to get that will enable the kids to enjoy it as well they get bigger as well adults. We also got the basketball hoop and the game pack.

Rules are important. We also have a consent/waiver form the parents must fill out first. I tell them we have lots of insurance and if something happens they can go against that - I just don't want to lose my house. Life long paralysis costs would turn the best of friends into enemies quickly. Most sign it without a problem, but some have refused and thus their kids cannot jump.

Definitely can be a fun and safe toy that teaches them about their body in space. Good for all sorts of other athletics as well as stamina.

Have fun!

Trampolines....touchy topic.....

I LOVED my trampoline growing up which was a rectangle one with no net or pads. My brother and I are just fine.

When my daughter was in elementary school we bought a trampoline at Academy. The enclosure was sold separately. I do not remember the brand name. We spent around $300.

I would STEER CLEAR of any Walmart or Sams product. Everything they have is cheaper for a reason......poor quality. It might have the same logo but it is not the same product. Wally World always buys from the lowest bidder because they want to always have the low price. You get what you pay for. I go out of my way to never, ever, go into a Walmart or Sams. If you don't believe me, check it out online with the financial networks and see how their business practices are. SICK

I cannot tell you how much she enjoyed the trampoline, her friends & neighbors enjoyed it and we did as well. It was super fun in summer to put liquid soap on it and slip and slide everywhre.

YES, we were aware of the risks when we bought it. We simply had rules to follow. If someone didn't follow rules, they were asked to get off the trampoline.

YES, they are dangerous but so is skateboarding, bike riding, running, etc.... Just be smart about it.

We bought our trampoline at Sam's Club they seemed to have the best deal on the whole thing with the net included. (We even had to renew our membership and it was still the best deal we could find locally.) It has been 2 years so I'm not sure if they have the same one or not I think it was called a jumppod.

I bought ours at sams club. After a ton or looking and searching that was the best deal. It was the biggest for the money. The enclosure was extra but I didnt give it a second thought, it was needed. I do want to mention without sounding like a party pooper but please check with your home owners insurance before buying. Some carriers will cancel you if you dont tell them you have a tramp. If someone gets hurt they wont cover it if you dont have a rider or policy that supports a trampoline. I had a friend recently that found out the hard way. So please just beware! It has been a life saver for my son with ADHD, I dont know what we did before we had it! Good luck on your search.

If you have an Academy Sporting goods nearby they are good. I got mine 14' with the enclosure for 275$ we have had it for 3 years and taken it down and put it back up 3 times due to moving and its still in great shape!

More money doesnt necessarily mean better, sometimes you pay for a name. I think depending on your region too, (low humidity versus high humidity) you will have different maintenance issues.

Trampolines are great fun for kids and a wonderful outlet!

we don't have one but I recommend you speak w/ your insurance company first. Some won't cover you and some will up your insurance. Some up it and will cancel you if they find out from some else that you have one.

I would recommend going to twin falls, go to thursdays (over by the depot grill) I just saw one that is twice the size of the normal ones today (they were open on Saturday, yes) and the prices there are fair. it is huge and the pads are purple green blue and yellow. It looks as if it is more well built than the ones you would get at other stores.

Don't do it. A trampoline is a law suit waiting to happen in the current social and legal environment.

It looks like you can order the Trampoline and the enclosure from Wal Mart. You order it online and they will ship it to the store of your choice at no charge..

I agree check with your homeowners insurance ours had to come and inspect our check yard, the gate and it had to have a self closing door on the gate..

I have heard some of them will drop your home owners coverage, so call them first..

We bought our tramp from Sams, and 5 years later it is fallin apart. The stitching that holds the springs on are failing. But my kids used it non-stop for the last 5 years. I like to think that the trampoline is what got my daughter interested in gymnastics...she is now competitive and couldnt live with out it. I am going to look into the jumpsport web site.:-) Good question!!
