Best Place to Buy a Christmas Tree

Like many other families right now, times are really tough this year and I'm not even sure how we will get through the month. I'm willing to make a lot of sacrifices, but for me it's just not Christmas without a Christmas tree. I love the smell of a real tree and we have fun putting all the ornaments we have collected on the tree. My 5 year old asked if he could put all of them on himself this year! We also have a tradition of putting pillows under the tree and reading Christmas books. So even though money is tight, I just can't do without the real tree. Does anyone know where the least inexpensive trees can be bought?

What can I do next?

I don't know if you're interested in this, but there are several places up in the mountains that you can cut down your own tree, and it's pretty inexpensive. My family goes to Redfeather, and it costs $10 for a tree, and you have the pick of the whole forest!

We always buy ours @ King Soopers. They have a great selection and good prices. You can get a 6-7 foot fir for $29.95 (they have some less expensive as well, but they're smaller).

Hope this helps... happy holidays!

There is a man in Dumont giving away free Christmas trees (9 News ran a story on him this morning). All he asks is you pay it forward and do something nice for someone else during the holidays - nothing says Christmas quite like that!

I just bought one last night that I love. I don't remember the name of the place, and I'm not sure where you are, but I'll try. It's in Boulder/Louisville on 75th just north of Valmont. There are 2 lots there, this was the lot just a bit more north, not on the corner. They have native trees and our little Charlie Brown tree - about 4-5 feet was only $20. Plus they have 2 live reindeer there!

I have done the go to the mountains and cut your own before for $10 too. It's a very fun thing sto do with the family... lots of people do it, and people kind of tail gate there - they bring food and hot chocolate and the kids play in the slow - it's a good time, and cheap and even though the trees don't look great, the experience is super fun. I highly recommend it. I just don't know where to find the specific information. It's something about the forest being too thick - maybethe forest service does it, not sure.
