My son is slender and on the tall side...

18 month jeans are too short and 24 month jeans are too loose on his waist.

What brands run smaller in the waist?

Thanks

I love Children's Place and Old Navy they both have the adjustable waist. Have you tried a 2T instead of 24 months?

BabyGAP jeans were the only pants I could find with adjustable waists smaller than size 2T. They were the ONLY pants my tall, slender kids could wear.

The Children's Place, Gymboree and Target sells jeans for kids with an adjustable waist. Check them out - they're life savers in situations like yours. Both my kids have to wear this type of pants. Good luck!

Old Navy runs on the smaller side and have the adjustable waist...children's place is also good. I think Old Navy is also having their $10 baby/children's jeans sale, too!

I second the suggestion for the adjustable waist. My son is now 8 and can now finally do without the adjustable waist! Children's Place, Old Navy, some Levis.....Look inside!

My son is the same way, he is 3 years old. The jeans that fit him perfect are Carters, they make some of their jeans with an adjustable waistband on the inside, they are amazing! I highly recommend!!

Carter's - adjustable waist. You can get them online direct from their website or visit a store near you. They are also super soft when you buy them which is nice for babies. Just bought some the other day for my son who just turned one but in the same size situation as yours.

Do you have a children's place near you? They have pants that are long enough but have and adjustable waist band. I used to get them for my son bc he was so tall and lean. I know for sure they have them at The Children's Place, but I am sure they are available in other places just do a quick search online. Good luck!

Old Navy has skinny jeans with an adjustable waist that work great for that problem.

My daughter has always been like that. My son has the opposite issue.

However, most stores carry adjustable waist jeans for boys and girls now. Walmart, Meijer, Kmart, Target... Any of those really. JCPenney has some good sales from time to time. Kohls too.

You can buy jeans with an adjustable waist almost everywhere and in every brand. Old Navy, Gap, Children's Place, Levi, etc.

Thankfully most jeans now have adjustable waist, but I have found that Gap runs the smallest. If you have the same problem with your child as I do with my kids, the adjuster straps are set as small as possible and they still fall off, and are very bunched at the waist!

Good luck! I wish I had the same problem that our kids do! ;)

I shop for pants and jeans at the Gap for my 6 & 4 year old sons. They have an extra button/inside belt/adujster thing on the inside of the waistband that will tighten the pants.

My 2 year old daughter is the same way. I have found slimmer cuts of jeans at Children's Place and Gap and adjustable waist ones at many places (the ones mentioned plus Kmart, Target, Kohls, etc). I find JC Penny's runs slimmer that some other brands. children's place jeans run smallish but not any of their other clothes that run average to big. Carters tends to be a bit smaller or slimmer cut.

In the end if I like an item I just buy it and take a few minutes to take it in by sewing a little pleat at the waist (1 in the back or 2 on the sides depending on the garment). It doesn't require much time or sewing skill. I can do 5-6 items while watching tv for half an hour. Half the time I can take it out when my daughter grows a little.

I also go with Children's Place and Old Navy. Old Navy sells slims in the store no while CP doesn't but CP has a better price and they will give you free shipping if you can't find the item in store.

Get the ones with the adjustable elastic and buttons inside the waistband. That will give him length without them falling off. Also, try 2T vs 24 mo.
