Best Formula?

Costco-Kirkland all the way...It is the only reasonable brand out there.

if you compare ingredients, they're pretty much the same, so spend less $$ b/c you're going to be buying soooo much of it! My babe breastfed for 6 months exclusively and then we substituted formula for some daytime bottles. I used the free samples sent to me of Similac and Enfamil and then started buying Kirkland from Costco. My daughter took anything--she's not picky. The only difference I found was that Kirkland mixes better by stirring rather than shaking the bottle (and that probably only matters b/c I never heat them up, so I mix them with cool tap water).

My personal favorite that I fed both of my kids is Nestle Good Start. They spit up any other formula I gave them. The Nestle Good Start my daughter drank was in the purple can, my son drinks the golden yellow can. He had a UTI when he was 2 months old and the Urologist suggested the new Nestle Good Start that is in the green can. It was no good for my son, he spit up his bottles at every meal, so we discontinued it. But every child reacts differently.

good start is awesome it was the only one my daughter could handle. infamil and simalac are a little harsh on a babies tummy. my daughter was very gassy and constipated on those formulas and did great on good start. she started on infamil as a suppliment to my breast milk in the nicu but once on formula only she couldnt tolerate it. i really reccamend good start for the quality and the price!

I agree when I gave my kids formula I tried a lot but ended up liking the Good start the best. Good luck!!

Hi G., In my daycare i have seen every kind of formula, they cheaper brands don't mean less quality, it just means you are only paying for the formula not the name. I personally used Similac with iron with all 3 of my babies, back in the 80's but of course it was a lot less exspencive then than it is now. J. L.

Good start really is the best. It is very gentle on their tummys. My daughter spent some times in the PICU when she was just a week old and we tryed everything with the infant nutritionist. She said Enfamil Lipil and Similac are very similair. She said its the same ingrediants, it just depends on how it breaks down in the babies tummy. She said that Goodstarts has proteins to help them break it down, plus if you make it up and shake it, it has less bubbles. She gave me a sample of all 3 formulas and let me do my own test. I made it, shook it, and smelt them all. Goodstart made bairly any bubbles, and smelt a lot better. Plus its made by nestle, the same company that makes chocolate, how could you go wrong?

My son breastfed for the first six months and then we switched to Enfamil Lipil, mostly because it's what they used at the hospital for all babies whose Mom's had issues with milk coming in. His Doctor in the NICU said it was the best as far as being the closet to breastmilk. Now, it's expensive, so I probably would've prefered to go with a cheaper brand, but you have to work with your little one. My son was lactose intolerant and had to be switched to several formulas until we found one that worked really well for him...we tried Similac and it was too heavy and caused tummy issues, and we tried another one that made him gassy...so we went back to Enfamil Prosobee, which was awesome!

Really, it's just a matter of what works for your baby.
