Benefits of Cutting Cable
I am considering getting rid of cable. Any thoughts? I also want to know if you still have access to channels like 2,4, 5, 7, etc. I know it sounds silly but my shows are on those channels and wondered if you could still watch them without cable (there is no outside antenna here either though) Thanks in advance ladies!

I know you can do it. I just think you need to have an HD antenna (the old fashioned kind will work, but only for a little while longer). My parents got rid of their cable and went back to watching just the basic channels. They installed an HD antenna and get a decent picture. They've discovered, however, that wind sometimes affects the signal and they get weird interruptions. It's not often though and worth the money savings.

Before you do, go get an antennae use it for a week or so, see if you are ok with the quality and make sure you get all of your channels-I for some reason don't get channel 13 or 58 anymore, since the digital converter box.
we haven't had cable in almost 3 years and while there are times when there really is nothing on and my son misses the Disney channel, it hasn't been worth the money to get it back.
If you change your mind just return the antennae and keep on with the cable.
Good Luck

We went from Direct TV just to normal TV and as long as you have an antenna you get all of the basic channels plus a bunch of other channels (PBS, Qubo-another kids channel, etc..) With the digital channel thing happening they almost all through come in on HD even and almost all are digital already!
It's not that bad of a switch!! :) Good luck!
