Belly Sore?
I am wondering if there is any other mom's out there that have had a pain on the outside of their belly that feels like it is bruised or sometimes like it was burnt, but there is no difference in that spot when it comes to appearance, it's only 1 spot that feels like this but it's on the outside, my baby has been checked and everything is fine???????

My midwife told me that it's probably the baby's feet or some other body part hitting against the same area. A little trick she told me about was to put a bag of frozen vegetables in that area and the baby should eventually move away from it, at least for awhile, giving you some relief. Maybe that will help.

Yes, I remember this feeling. I think it was an internal bruise from the baby. It should go away soon. Maybe she's just very active- my daughter was up until the moment she came out.

This happened to me. (with 2 pregnancies) It is caused by a part of the baby that is jetting out and seriously stretching your skin. It actually bruises the inside tissue. During my 3rd pregnancy for the last month I could barely bend over because this "bruised" area was soooo sore.
Hang in there....

I absolutely do! Was concerned as I'm expecting twins- I feel that the spot should be black and blue when I look at it... but it's not- and it hurts like crazy! It's on my right side- and I seem to keep bumping it- it's also about the place where my 18 month-old son's knee lands when I'm carrying him. I was planning to mention it to my OB on my next visit- I asked my neighbor who has had 3 kids and she said she's had it before. I, too, was worried that I was doing harm to my baby- but I think they're pretty protected... I guess if ultrasound turns out ok, i wouldn't worry too much. Good luck!

I used to get pains in my sides. If I moved the wrong way, or if I just barely touched my side I would get this horrible pain. I asked my doctor about it and he said that it was just my muscles and things stretching. I don't know if that's the same kind of pain you have, but it could be just from everything getting stretched out. Couldn't hurt to ask your doctor at your next checkup. Good luck.

Hi T.,
I had a similar feeling with my second child. For me it was diastasis recti, which is abdominal muscle separation, and it started when I was around 6 months along. It didn't happen at all with my first child, but then again I was HUGE the second time around. It got alot worse the bigger I got and mostly because I was always bending down tying my son's shoes or getting him dressed, etc. (he was about 2 years old at the time). It's not serious and it certainly didn't get worse during labour or anything, it was just uncomfortable. I wore what's called a Belly Bra, which is like a tight fitting pregancy cami; really comfortable; and I while I was sitting I would stretch the middle of my abs together (almost like closing the gap where my belly button was) and it really helped the discomfort of the muscles stretching out. This may be way too much information and you may not even have what I had, but it's something to thing about anyway. :)
Good luck and I hope you have a great remainder of your pregnancy! Enjoy!

I too have had this.... I have a bit of a different perspective though. I worked in a Chiropractic office for a few years and had women come in and complain of this. Sometimes it suspected to be internal bruising as the one woman pointed out, but other times is was a pinched nerve in the back due to the shift in weight. If you believe in Chiro or not, you may want to consider a visit to a chiropractor. The nerves in your back travel all over your body, so it is not uncommon to have pain or symptoms in an area away from your back due to a spinal nerve being pinched. I hope this helps.

I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my 2nd. It was just below my ribs on my left side and it hurt so bad. I too asked the Dr about it and they thought maybe my daughter pused on it or kicked but I didn't think so. Only good thing.......it went away when I was put on bedrest at 20wks. Good luck; thank God it is all worth it.
