Bed Options for 3 Month Old Still in Parents Room

My 3 month old son has reflux/heartburn and is still nursing every 3-4 hours during the night so he is still sleeping in our room and has outgrown his bassinet.

Can anyone recommend a bed/sleeping solution for him in our room?
His crib is upstairs and we don't want to take it apart to move it downstairs for only a few months.

Has anyone used a playyard/bassinet combo in a situtation like this??

Both of my kids, now 2 1/2 and 18 months, slept in their playyards until they were ready for their cribs. Both of them did really well with thi and actually made it easier when we traveled for them to sleep wherever we went since they were already used to it!! (It still comes in handy when traveling!) I just put a crib sheet over the "mattress" part and treated it just like it was their beds. Good luck!

Look at www.ambybaby.com. We used this for our little girl. I loved having her right next to the bed, but not in the bed. I could also swing, rock, and bounce her without getting out of the bed. It is very portable and it supposed to be helpful with reflux. When she outgrew it (basically she started sleeping on her stomach, we converted it to the jumper. You might check on e-bay -- you can sometimes get a good deal on one there. Good luck!

K.,
I have used a "co-sleeper" with both of my kids. Its great. Its basically a pak n' play that attaches to the bed at roughly the same height as the bed so they are right there by you and easy to grab and breastfeed. Then later you can use it as an ordinary pack n play.
Good luck!

I have a crib that was only $99 and it has compartments to hold things, has a changing table with a mobile, nightlight and music and two levels. The top level so the baby can sleep in and the bottom portion to play in as he gets older.
So far I've only used mine as a changing table and love it.

Hi K.,
My kids have all slept in the pack and play in instances like that- or when I needed one in a quieter spot for naps etc... It works great.

We used the pack-n-play bassenet for our daughter. It worked great. You may also consider a beside the bed co-sleeper.

Hi. We used a portable (porta) crib in our room with each of our boys. We had the same situation of having the baby room up and ours was downstairs. We used it until our son was about 9 months old. It doesn't have to be expensive. We got ours at Babies r Us for about 50-60.00 but I later discovered that Walmart carries them. Good luck!

I am single mom and have been since before the birth of my youngest now 13 month. I don't have the pleasure of my son having his own room so we share a room and at 1st i had the pack and play combo that has a bassinet and changing table.
It was really great and he slept on great, my son also had acid relux from the time he was 7 wks until recently.

Please if you have any questions please contact me.
Thanks
Michele

When my daughter was born, she stayed in our room until she slept through the night (6 weeks). She slept in a pack-n-play with the sleeper part attached to the top (easier on a newborn). It was just a normal Graco P&P.

Good luck.

We loved our Jeep Pack-n-Play- The bassinet was roomy & then it can be removed for the full play part. It has a light/music & vibrate!!
