Bead Stores
Hi ladies! I would like to try my hand at making some of my own jewelry, and wondering if anyone has any tips, websites, etc. I've been to Blue Frog Bead store in Villa Park-don't know of more stores in the area? Do Michael's and Hobby Lobby have a decent selection?

Bead Boss in Cary has a very nice store, large selection. I believe they have a website. There's also a bead store in Palatine off Palatine Rd, but I haven't been in there. I just found this site with a google search; it lists lots of stores, you could find one close to you. www.guidetobeadwork.com/localstores/states/IL.zip.html

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for as to type, class, expense etc but Oriental Trading Company has beads available on their website.

I haven't been to any other stores to compare, but Bead in Hand in Oak Park has gorgeous beads and friendly staff.

Downtown Wheaton has 2 bead places. One is Carlson's located on Front Street and the other is The Genuine Article located on the corner of Front STreet and Hale.
I've been in The Genuine Article twice now and there has been people in their beading both times. They are older and joke that it's adult daycare! They have lists of classes on their website.
Good luck!

Try Chicago Bead on Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn just west of Park next to Ace Hardware.
