Basketball Program for 5 Yr Old?
Somehow we missed tball (and cant get anyone to respond thru phone or email) and soccer. We werent sure about football this early, but my son really enjoys basketball. I know at KYA, they cant play at 5 yet, but arent there UPWARD programs??
Thanks ladies!

Try V-start at Velocity Sports (Southlake, Coppell and Highland Village)... they've got a cool new program for 5-6 yr olds that gets them ready for all around sports skills. Girls can do it too!

Try the Keller Parks and Recreation Department - there are usually some beginner programs to get them started...good luck.

A.--don't know where you live but Upward is a great program and offered at churches around the Metroplex. Upward offers basketball, soccer and flag football, but not all churches have every one of the leagues. Check www.upward.org to find a program near you. I do know that soccer and flag football are offered at Trietsch MUMC in Flower Mound (www.tmumc.org), and Lakeland offers basketball in Lewisville. It's a fabulous program for five year olds--all kids get equal playing time. I'm sure your child (and you) will be blessed by the experience.
